“hotel soddisfacente”
hotel in posizione ottimale e ben tenuto , tuttio e' andato come previsto consigliabile!!!!
“Good location, not **** worthy”
The hotel staff was friendly and helpful, and the location of the hotel is great, but that is about all that I could recommend about it. Otherwise the building and decor is quite average, and not what I would expect from a "4-star" hotel. Thankfully I didn't spend much time in the room or the hotel.
“if you want to experience ams with paying a little more than average.. this is the wrong pick”
Neber again... It was my first time in AMS as a couple and I wanted to pay a little more than usual hostel/2-3 star hotel price and get some decent accommondation so I chose NH doelen. some cons: -They have very limited number of personnel so that when you come to the hotel after midnight you find the main door locked !!! .. That's because the receptionist is touring the floors to make sure everything is OK.. this is an NH hotel but they can't afford having 2 people working a night shift? We had to wait for about 15 minutes out in the cold, with several other people for the receptionist finish his tour and unlock the main enttance -The building is in a bad shape -Our bed was not leveled with broken springs -The staff is obnoxious.. Pros: - good location
“Until they rennovate, try something else.”
The hotel is staffed by some very nice people, but the hotel is just too run-down. There is no airconditioning. The TV was old too -- probably from the mid-1980's. The room we had and everything in it was in shoddy condition. There are no dead-bolt locks on the room doors. There was no in-room safe and the windows, which you need to leave open seemed to be a security risk. We arrived at 1100pm for a 4 night stay. We stayed only that first night and we left the very next morning for another hotel. The staff was nice enough to assist us though and they should get credit for that. Its a shame really because all it needs is to be cleaned up and provide some "modern" comforts that most people on holiday look for and I am sure it will do well.
“Not really a 4 star hotel”
We have stayed in the Doelen a couple of times in the past. The last time was about 10 years ago. We decided to stay there again and were looking forward to the hotel that we remembered. Sadly, it has gone downhill somewhat since out last visit. The staff were still very efficient and friendly, and the location is excellent. But I think the hotel needs work to bring it back into the 4 star caregory. The room was very small... Nowhere to put you things other than on the floor. The bathroom was shabby and the TV didn't work properly. The main problem was the noise. When we first went into the room I thought the window had been left open. However, it was just the tired, worn out double glazing. It was so noisy at night we had to phone down for earplugs! We could also hear every word of the people in the next room. Very poor when compared to similar 4 star hotels in Amsterdam. We won't stay at the Doelen again.

“I was dissapointed”
Location was great and staff was very good, but the condition of the hotel and the room was horrible. Our mattress and furniture was so old when you sit one side almost fall out of the bed. Room was extremely small two people barely could move at the same time. Window was very dirty. I think for the money it is not worth. do not let room pictures online deceive you.

Hôtel très bien mais en revanche il était complet à notre arriveé. Ils ont réussi à nous trouvez une chambre avec deux lits. .Le problème venait de France qui n avait pas vérifier la disponibilité.

bel hotel tres bien placé chambre vaste un peu vieillotte mais propre en revanche tres mauvaise literie , matelas ultra mou!
“hotel nh doelen :très bien situé mais sanitaire et sb déficients”
lavabo ébrêché, wc entartré, douche fonctionnant très mal, salle de bain à refaire de A à Z surtout par rapport bà la classification de l'hôtel Salle des petits déjeuners superbe avec vue sur l'Amstel !!
