Clean and comfortable hotel.

Data di pubblicazione: 26-set-2014
I pro: No room service, but continental breakfast offered (cold foods only - such as fruit, cereal, pop-tarts, granola bars; as well as juice, soda & coffee)
I contro: Shuttle service to the Johns Hopkins Medical Center needs to be more accurate, as it never came on the first day of the conference I was attending.
Posizione: Conference center with several restaurants within walking distanct. Also within walking distance of the local communter trains.
The only reasonably priced hotel I could find for a conference I was attending at Johns Hopkins Medical Center. Clean and comfortable.

Baltimore conference trip

Data di pubblicazione: 22-set-2014
I pro: The grounds and the surrounding areas. Convenient to light rail.
I contro: A few rocking chairs or lounge chairs on the Octagon patio would be perfect!
Posizione: Whole Foods, restaurants and light rail are a short walk from the hotel.
I was in Baltimore for a conference. All inner harbor rooms were booked, so I gave this place a try. Virtual door-to-door light rail transportation from the hotel to the Baltimore Convention Center. And the hotel grounds are lovely. Mt. Washington is a cute little town. Whole Foods is walking distance from the hotel, and so are a few wonderful restaurants. I was upgraded to The Octagon building, which was FANTASTIC. The suite was gorgeous and enormous.

Nice hotel but cheaply appointed rooms

Data di pubblicazione: 13-set-2014
I contro: Room decor
Nice hotel but the rooms were redecorated with cheap furniture. The bathtub/shower was 1950's vintage. Nice. Location on beautiful grounds

Extremely nice complex

Data di pubblicazione: 13-ago-2014
I pro: Everything
I contro: My granddaughter would have liked to have eggs and bacon/sausage or a waffle for breakfast.
Posizione: We felt very safe here. Several good restaurants within a five minute walk. Train to downtown also. Baltimore downtown was a 10 min. drive.
The hotel was situated in a wonderful setting. It was quiet and peaceful and the grounds were beautifully landscaped. We had our own balcony and the beds were comfy. The bathroom tub had a very good non-skid surface and the exhaust fan was extremely quiet and very efficient--it was the first room we've had where the mirror did not fog up at all. We were on the road for about 3 weeks and this was, by far, the best hotel.

Nice venue

Data di pubblicazione: 12-ago-2014
I pro: It was quiet. The breakfast was just enough. Starbucks is a plus.
I contro: We really think it was quite nice.
Posizione: We did have some trouble finding the center. We passed it several times.....noticed the John Hopkins sign but did not connect it with Mt. Washington
Arrived Friday and checked-out Sunday. We were pleased with the room, the exterior was beautiful too. We had no problems during our stay. The staff was courteous and friendly.

Calling a double bed a queen is not right!

Data di pubblicazione: 4-ago-2014
I pro: The hotel is an old dorm on the Johns Hopkins campus up in Mt. Washington. Mellow.
I contro: Room service non-existent for me. Front Desk nice but obviously put in a jam by false marketing and a manager who apparently doesn't really care.
Posizione: Mt. Washington Tavern is pretty cool. The hotel is convenient if you are travelling around north Baltimore.
Checked in and found myself in a very tiny room. That was something I had been prepared for, but the tiny bed which they said was a queen was totally wrong and misleading. I complained and eventually after a night in that room they moved me to more of a regular room (still tiny) but with a slightly bigger bed....still a stretch for a queen. Yes I actually measured to make sure I wasn't overreacting. Now, about the maid service....there was NONE. As in in the 3 nights I stayed, the room was never made up. I was there with friends, they enjoyed a free upgrade to the "octagon" where they had everything including a shoe polisher in the room. Oh yeah, their room was made up every day.

We were thrilled with the balconies and lovely views. The community room with ping pong, pool and tv was a bonus for the kids.
