Old building but good renovated rooms

I contro: A little more attention on routine room maintenance could make a lot of difference.
The check in process was quick and efficient. They have happy hour prices at the bar but no free "customer appreciation" drinks or food. The room size is OK and the furniture quality is good. The bathroom is spacious and the shower is excellent. We had a small problem with the drain (slow flow) but it was promptly fixed next day when we reported the issue. There is plenty of parking and it is free. They have few floors and we never had to wait too long for the elevator. If you want an upscale shopping experience, the South Coast Plaza is very close. If you like Japanese food, there is the Mitsuwa Marketplace 1 block away with a good food court. The checkout was also quick and very professional.

The staff were very nice but bit slow for regular check-in / out process. The room was very comfortable and I would defineatery stay again.

Nice hotel, but needs better aminities.

The hotel was nice, the room was pretty standard, nothing special. We were supposed to get free wifi, but didn't. There was no refrigorator and the shower curtin was dirty. The bed was comfortable and the shower head was great. The pool area and atmadphere was the best thing about this hotel. But over all it's not worth the money.! You can find a hotel for this amount that has all the aminities and nicer all together. I give a three star out of five. It was alright:/

Shopping Trip

I pro: Location, easy access.
I contro: Staffing, food items on menu -
Posizione: close to freeway, shopping
Hotel was nice, restaurant disappointing, not much on the menu and expensive. Staff not very knowledgeable. Ice machine on the main floor only. Good location. On day of checkout we went out (elsewhere) for breakfast super early and when we got back there was a maid in one of our rooms, why would you be in there when you know we are checking out and its only 9:00 am.

ok hotel.. Close to beach and very close mall.

I pro: The gentleman that assisted me at the registration counter was friendly and courteous.
I contro: Communication with guest about it's services.. Particularly shuttle and mall hours. There could have been some type of music in the bar area.
Posizione: Great location. I would stay there again.
I checked in on a Saturday evening. The shuttle driver and receptionist at the registration counter told me that the shuttle service came and went every 30 minutes, and that the last shuttle ran until 10:30 PM. Unfortunately i had to wait 1 hour for the next available shuttle to the mall. I took the short drive to the mall to find out that all of the stores closed at 8:00 PM. Why are hotels employees telling us that there's free shuttle service to the South Coast Plaza Mall until 10:30 PM, but failing to tell us there's no sense in going shopping when the mall closes at 8:00 PM??

Everything was great except for the jacuzzi. The water was warm and the jets were VERY weak. It was kind of like being in a warm bath.

I contro: Their customer service, their reservations policy, Their attitudes.......get it?
Posizione: It was two miles from Newport Beach. Too bad I spent my time trying to find suitable rooms instead of enjoying the beach.
I arrived on Saturday around 2 pm. They said my room wasn't clean yet. Told me to come back at 3:30 pm or after. I had just driven for six hours to get there. I came back at 7:30 pm and was told I couldn't have the king bed room I reserved but could have a "double". I complained but to no avail After a brief argument, the clerk said they would send me to another hotel a mile away. Apparently reservations don't mean a thing to them. I stayed at Crowne Plaza Hotels all over the country at various times. Never again. Oh, by the way, they sent me to the AYERS Hotel. I was treated very well there!

lovely. happy hour in bar. accepts dogs. clean. updated. stylish. friendly front desk. what is not to love.
