“First rate hotel, one of the best of its kind. Great staff, all very helpful .”
Very conveniently located for many Paris attractions, with a handy Metro station just round the corner. The hotel staff could not have been more helpful, whilst the little breakfast room was just right. Continental breakfast, or more, was available had you so wished. The main hotel problem is getting in and out of a taxi with luggage in such a small and narrow street. The cars waiting behind our taxi were not always very patient!
“WOW”
It was amazing!! Will most definately go back there!
“Excellent”
Overall this hotel gets a 9 out of 10. The rooms are not big, but in a city like Paris good enough to sleep. Breakfast is excellent and the staff is friendly, helpful and experienced.
“Friendly staff, comfortable room.”
Very friendly staff and a comfortable room. The room was not very large but the bathroom had been newly done. The location is good, 5 mins walk from the Louvre and near the Madaleine metro station. The restaurant just across the road, the Royal Madaleine, is good but not cheap.
“Terrific location”
We stayed in a VIP Triple room which was spacious & comfortable. The staff were without exception helpful & friendly. Most of the staff spoke very good English. The room was pleasantly decorated with good ensuite facilities. It was serviced well & other requirements eg ironing board, provided promptly. Breakfast was plentiful & varied. Most evenings we ate at a friendly brasserie across the street. Location excellent for Tuilleries Gardens, with trampolines & funfair open everyday. Easy walk to Louvre, banks of the Seine, Champs Ellysee & a bit further to Eiffel Tower. Only downside was the general noise of traffic when windows were open (its a city!) but no problem sleeping with air conditioning on. The hotel is apparently built above the Metro line, & we did notice some noise/vibration at times, but as we were on the fifth floor this was not a problem. Quite noticeable in the basement at breakfast though. Overall, an excellent, comfortable base for sightseeing.
“Excellent location in Prime Paris”
This is an excellent boutique hotel located in prime Paris within walking distance to Le Louvre, Vendredome, L'Opera, Shopping/Fashion boutiques, night clubs, etc. Hotel rooms were recently renovated, and well maintained. There is a metro line which goes below the hotel (underground), and can be noisy/vibrating during the day. Otherwise no issues. Did not eat buffet breakfast, and hence no comment. There are many cafes around the hotel for meals.
“Fab location and great staff”
Arrived at Madeleine tube station, walked out turned left and found the hotel down a pretty side street straight away! Set amoung some very posh expensive shops. Lovely staff, we arrived before check in (2pm) but room was already done for us which was great. We booked a superior double which was clean, quite big and nice decor. Asked receptionist where things were and how far away and she was very helpful. Although some reviews commented on here about the noise of the metro below the hotel, we hardly heard it and was definately not loud enough to wake us! We chose to eat breakfast at little cafe's nearby which was cheaper than the hotel itself, there was a nice one right next to it and along the main Madeleine boulevade. Would recommend using the bike rental ports round the corner where you buy a day pass and pay by the half hour to use as there were lots of 'bike ports' where you could plug them back in (we rode to eiffel tower, champs elysee, notre dame etc) the total cost came to 12euros each for the whole day. We enjoyed our trip so much that we would like to return again next year and would not hesitate to book this hotel again.
“A mixed bag.”
Paris was our last stop after various cities in Italy and Barcelona and, let's face it, Paris is very expensive compared to these other European destinations. While the Opera Richepanse was the most expensive hotel we stayed at, it had the smalled room and less inclusions (had to by for internet connection) than the rest. The staff were wonderful and extremely helpful, however, our room faced the rear street which was appeared to be the preferred walkway for very vocal pedestrians. The noise continued to 4 -5am on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. Therefore the hotel is a mixed bag and while it has a great location to access the main attractions on our next visit we will probably stay at another establishment in Montparnasse which we stayed at previously.
“Great staff, good location, large room”
Stayed six nights in VIP room #57. The beginning of the stay was bumpy: I'd reserved a non-smoking room and called 10 days in advance to confirm all details. The nice lady even said they'd have room made up early for us b/c our flight arrived so early (6:30 am, putting us at hotel around 9:30am). When we arrived, the room was not to be ready until 2pm, normal check-in time. We did the jet-lag-walk-around and I rested in lobby until room was ready. Unfortunately, the room was a smoking room. The smell was intense and the product used to mask the smell almost as bad. After being told we could not switch rooms, we moved to a much nicer room. It was huge (for Paris) and faced a quiet side (we gave up a modest view of Madeleine church that we had from smoking room). The bathroom was very nice and big. Despite not getting much direct sun, the room was fairly light because of its large floor-to-ceiling windows that open. Coffee pot in room and we used mini fridge for our own goodies. Grocery store close by. Easy walk to Louvre, Metro, Concorde, Orsay and much more. The bed was hard, but that seems to be the way of Europe. Towel warmer in bathroom was nice touch and helpful for the little sink laundry we did. The shopping is very expensive in the area - lots of luxury chains. Myriad cafes in the area - tho those near hotel are way overpriced, beware. The staff was so helpful throughout our stay, especially Jeremy.
“Best location in Paris”
The hotel itself is an above average building and is adequately maintained. Reception staff were courteous, friendly and attentive. Location is so incredibly good that minor issues may easily be overlooked. My room was small - typical of most Parisian hotels - but comfortable with a good size bathroom which appeared to be recently renovated. The building is right above the subway so light sleepers may experience a slight problem. Located between two main subway stations - Madeleine and Concorde - and yards away from Rue St. Honoré I cannot think of a better located hotel in all of Paris. Highly recommended.
