“Comodo per chi arriva in treno alla Gare de Lion”

Hotel in fase di ristrutturazione, con disagi conseguenti. Difficoltà nell'uso dell'ascensore. Non abbiamo usufruito della colazione perchè era troppo cara. Le camere erano confortevoli.

“HOTEL IN RISTRUTTURAZIONE”

Hotel comodo per spostamenti, vicinissimo a Gare de Lyon. Purtroppo attualmente in fase di ristrutturazione...camera piccola per tre persone, la prima notte il terzo letto era una branda (con stecche rotte) piccolissima, solo dopo richiesta è stata sostituita con un letto normale. Scarsa pulizia. Sconsigliata colazione euro 16,00. In camera c'è il bollitore elettrico per acqua. Nessuna è stata applicata alcuna tassa supplementare.

“Helped Enjoy Paris”

The hotel located within sight of the Gare de Lyon train station and in a location that provides for almost everything the traveler/visitor needs to create a memorable experience in Paris. The metro (yellow line 1) is co-located inside the station and provides easy and safe connections to the entire metro system fanned out under the city. With a 3 minute schedule between metro trains the Motre Dame Church, the Orsay Museum, the Louvre Museum, and the Eiffel Tower are just minutes away. If Euro Disney is one of your destinations the RER A (A4 - red line) is also connected to the station. Just steps away surrounding the hotel are reasonably priced restaurants to relax in after a day of walking and sight-seeing; sandwich shops that provide a great selection of simple lunches that can be picked up fresh in the AM and used for lunch while walking around; a reasonably priced market for the basics either forgotten or exhausted; as well as several bakeries offering more sinfully tasty treats than one should readably consider (even while on holiday). The hotel staff is friendly and professional providing information and assistance to those staying there. Rooms are clean and relatively large. The only downside to the location of the hotel is the sex shop next door. Other than the advertisement via the neon signs in the covered windows the establishment is discreet. However, to some it may be offensive.

“A terrific center of operations for our visit”

We had two days in between other obligations in France. The location of this hotel was unusually convenient, due to its proximity to the Gare de Lyon, with its shops and nearby restaurants. We found the hotel within covenient walking distance (not close but in Paris, walking for 20 minutes seems to be nothing) of the places we wanted to see, such as the Ile de la Cite (Notre Dame, Sainte Chappelle) which were accessible, while the neighborhood was quiet enough to let us get over our jet lag.

“A wel located hotel in an area with good amenities”

The Holiday Inn Bastille is a comfortable, clean hotel located within minutes of the Gare du Lyon and all transport links (Metro [including particularly Line 1 which directly shadows the curves of The Seine to serve Notre Dame, The Louvre and the Eiffel Tower links], RER, taxis and buses), but without sufering from the hyper-activity of such a convenient location. The surrounding area is peppered with a good mix of eateries (avoid Vesuvio - expensive, poor fare), and the hotel has a neighbouring internet cafe, pharmacy and couple of mini-supermarkets. The hotel is in good order, although Room 501 suffers from quite noisy plumbing in the bathroom, but it's not excesively disrupting. The hotel has two lifts (not just the 2 man one other respondents identified) which are slow but adequate. Paris, as of September 2010, still has the gold ring scam, chase-the-lady scam and fare dodging locals forcing their way through the Metro gates by 'spooning' tourists going through the gates, as well as many East European and African beggars and tat-sellers The Eiffel Tower was very crowded and had long queues to reach various stages, but definitely worth the effort. Tourist tip. When ordering champagne in the local cafes, ask them to bring the bottle to the table to pour. We had a pricey glass which tasted just like cheaper sparkling white wine, but couldn't prove we'd been duped.

“ideal location in city for transport”

only disconcerting factor was the lack of staff in the hotel in the evening/night. Having only two members of staff (one at front desk/one at the bar) on duty is a problem . The bar wasleft unmanned whilst a problem in a room was sorted out, and the front desk left un-attended whilst the barman took a break.

“Does exactly what it says on the tin.”

An excellent stay - it's not the ritz but it's not the Ritz price. Staff quietly efficient but always ready to help. We were given very good rooms overlooking the street -lots of Parisien comings and goings. Only slight grumble was the breakfast which although reasonable quality was a bit dear at 16 Euros. Would definitely stay there again- good location for getting around and an 'easy' hotel to use.

Family of 2 adults and 2 "children" ages 15 and 11. 1 room with double bed linked to 1 room with sofa bed. No breakfast included although free breakfast was available for children Very close and convenient to Gare du Lyon Station

“Paris Trip”

Hotel staff very welcoming and helpfull.Hotel rooms were as expected clean and tidy. Even though the hotel is on busy road the rooms were very quite and could have a good nights sleep. Plenty of eat outs in surrounding area. Very near to train station with good acces to metro services. Our stay at holiday inn was pleasent.
