Decent Hotel - not a lot of frills

Data di pubblicazione: 10-lug-2014
I pro: Decent room size, close to transportation, friendly staff
I contro: Lobby had a sour milk type smell
Posizione: Catacombs (right at the hotel), Musee Orsay, Rodin Museum, Louvre, Eiffel Tower, Tower Montparnasse, Notre Dame; Versailles
Decent hotel with excellent access to Metro and Trains at Denfert Rochereau. Room was decent size - Queen bed, couch to sit on and a desk. Also small fridge where we could keep a few cold drinks. Bathroom was ok but the whirlpool tub was a bit slippery when showering and towels a bit old/worn. Decor very basic and a bit dated. The carpet a bit warn. That being said this hotel met our needs for a week stay in Paris. We were able to walk to Louvre, Musee Orsay, NotreDame (it's a 2-3 mile walk) and we were very close to transportation if we didn't feel like walking. There was a very good bakery near by as well.

Wonderful location! Great start to trip!

Data di pubblicazione: 15-giu-2014 su Hotels.com
We stayed here one night (May 31, 2014) as a stopover before flying at at Orly. It was directly across from the Metro which was fabulous. We found this great street, Rue deguer, just around the corner, full of restaurants and shops. We had dinner at a creperie, hidden off the street, then enjoyed some of the best gelatto we ever had. We had a room overlooking the street, the metro, the catacombes..it was picturesque and quentessentially Parisian...we spent the evening walking in the area and just soaking in the atmosphere. The room was small but efficient, the bed was very comfortable and clean, if somewhat worn, thus the rating of 9. We stayed nearer the Eiffel later in our trip and found that restaurants and prices were less expensive in Montparnasse. If we did the trip again, we might choose to stay in this area at this hotel.

Small and quiet

Data di pubblicazione: 19-mag-2014 su Hotels.com
A very positive experience as the hotel met my most important criteria: safe, clean, well located, and pleasant, helpful staff. I so enjoyed being at a quiet place after 3 days at a very large hotel with many tours and congresses that I didn't mind the much smaller room. A mini fridge and tea/coffee making facilities were helpful and jacuzzi type jets in the shower a plus. I would definitely stay there again even in the same room solo but as a couple with much luggage would book a larger room.

Nice hotel, good location for catacoombs

Data di pubblicazione: 12-mag-2014
I pro: Good location for the catacoombs, not as immaculate as the picture suggests but the room was clean and the beds comfy. Fridge and staff helpful.
I contro: Breakfast was a little expensive at 10Euros (continental) so we bought our own food for the room and put in fridge with water.
Posizione: Good location for the catacoombs and right by Denfert Rochereau metro station to get all over Paris. Many shops and restaurants nearby.
The hotel midi was located opposite Denfert Rochereau metro station so was good for getting from A to B. We were able to get a train direct from CDG airport to this station. We chose this hotel as it is close to the catacoombs and this is the site we mainly wanted to visit having been to Paris before. We arrived at the queue on our first day at 2.30pm but with the queue being around 2.5 hour wait we new we wouldn't make the 4pm last entry. We decided to get the metro to the Eiffel tower and to get up early the next day to queue for the catacoombs. As we could see the queue from our hotel window we arrived at 9.20am (a little later than planned as we had a problem with our safe, fixed later). The site opened at 10am and we got in at 10.30am, over an hour wait but ok even in the rain! The site was very interesting and I was pleased to have seen all the bones and to learn more about the catacoombs. We also visited the Sacre Coeur and had a glass of wine in the square behind the church where all the artists paint. We ate in the Latin quarter on our first night and although the restaurant was a little tatty the food was ok and reasonable. The area is good but we saw two homeless families with very small children asleep outside the restaurants which wasn't good. On our second night we ate at a lovely restaurant by the musee d'orsey, the food was ok and we paid a little more but we enjoyed the overall atmosphere more. Our weekend was overall fantastic!

Good location, facility, and staff.

Data di pubblicazione: 30-apr-2013
I pro: Location, staff, view
I contro: Uncomfortable chair, small room
Posizione: Niether too touristy or businessy, nice mixed commercial/residential neighborhood
Great location on RER B (CDG airport line). Not touristy or business-district-dull. Rooms are small but have nice street view. I booked as cheaper alternative to Marriott Rive Gauche down the street, where I attended a business event. Not central to the main sights, but within easy access. Friendly staff, forthcoming with english. Nice brassiere on the corner.

Nice 2-3 star hotel

Data di pubblicazione: 17-feb-2013
I pro: Great location
I contro: The bed was too soft
Great location, the hotel was located next to a metro station and to lots of restaurants. The bed was too soft. The room was quiet. However, sound proof was poor; I could hear people walking on the floor above. The floor was relatively clean.
