Would stay there again...

Data di pubblicazione: 3-dic-2014
I pro: Staff was great. Rooms were clean. Breakfasts were good. Location was decent.
I contro: Beds were pretty hard (also typical in Europe) and they didn't have a scale to weigh suitcases (extremely miner item).
Posizione: The whole Rome thing...it was AWESOME!
Londra & Cargil hotel worked out great for us. It is a little bit of a walk from the Spanish steps, but it worked for us. We would take a taxi to the site we wanted to start the day at, and work our way back to the hotel. Granted, we stayed in late November so the hotel was pretty empty. Front desk was great...always ready to help. The room was clean but small (typical of Europe). Breakfast was good...better than most we encountered. Taxis were always there in 3 minutes. Good restaurants just a street over. I feel it was a good value and would definitely return.

Nice hotel but a little out of the way.

Data di pubblicazione: 11-nov-2014
I pro: It was well maintained and the room was comfortable.
I contro: The air conditioning left a lot to be desired. We had to turn it off and open the window. I feel the hotel should have better quality priced snacks.
Posizione: The hotel was situated in a good 'business' area but a bit far from the nearest metro Station - Barberini which was a good uphill walk!
We arrived in a thunder storm and this hotel doesn't have a Restaurant. We decided to use the hotel bar food for our evening meal rather than go out in the rain . We had to pay 48 Euro for two small omelets with stale bread, two slices of apple tart and two coffees. The bed and breakfast was okay and was the usual Continental fare with cold meats and hard boiled eggs. I asked the Waitress if I could have some soft boiled eggs with my breakfast but she replied "there will be a charge"! I decided not to pursue my request and I thought the staff were inflexible and couldn't believe they would charge to boil some "fresh" eggs that were already on the menu!

Lovely hotel

Data di pubblicazione: 2-nov-2014
I pro: Friendly helpful staff, spotless condition throughout.
Posizione: Railway station and multitude of restaurants within a 15 min walk.
Hotel approx 15 mins walk from rail station but not easy to find until you get your bearings, so worth paying the 10 euros for taxi. 10 mins from Balerini piazza where there are plenty of cafes, restaurants and shops. Metro system does not cover all of city centre area so be prepared for some walking. City centre open top bus tour good value at approx 21 euro. Be ready to be pestered with street traders selling Roses and 'selfie rods', but no worse than other major cities. Quiet a bit of renovation going on to popular attractions such as Trevi fountain and Spanish steps so be prepared for some unspectacular photos there. However overall a lovely City to visit with good sights, food and wine ( beer expensive) , so would highly recommend a visit to City and hotel L+C.

Excellent

Some comments: 1. If you're doing a city break, Rome requires a lot of walking. The hotel is a little far from the main attractions but 10-15 mins slowish walk to Trevin fountain / Spanish Steps. Closest Metro is Barbarini which is 10 mins walk enroute to Trevi fountain. 2. No dinner provided. Breakfast is good Italian. Lots of fresh bread and cakes. There is a good bar with comfortable seating. Friendly, helpful staff. Very clean and quiet.

A great location to explore Rome from

Data di pubblicazione: 28-ott-2014
I pro: Bedroom size and comfort
I contro: WiFi should be better; and tea & coffee in the room would be nice.
Posizione: Good location for the Central Termini and then most tourist attractions.
This hotel was perfect for a long weekend exploring Rome and reasonably priced. The location was great being an easy 10-minute walk from the Termini central train station. The 2 rooms we had were spacious and very clean, however the free wi-fi is more miss than hit (could not connect at all on our 2nd to last day, much to the annoyance of the kids. No tea & coffee in the room, which was a bit disappointing. The staff just said they were aware of problems "in the area"). The Continental breakfast and dining room were good but the staff are a tad slow to replenish empty baskets of bread / meat etc. Aside from these facilities there is nothing more to the hotel except a small and expensive bar that nobody uses. Overall it was absolutely fine as a base but nothing more. Plenty of good restaurants locally.

Brilliantly located Rome hotel

Data di pubblicazione: 24-ott-2014
I pro: Very welcoming and staff so friendly and helpful. Good sized room and facilities. Excellent buffet breakfast. Excellent location. Faultless.
I contro: Cannot think of anything - we were thoroughly impressed.
Posizione: There were many cafes and eating establishments very close by. You can visit some small local shops or just sit at a table and watch the world go by.
On our first day we walked to the Spanish Steps and back to Piazza Barbarini where we took a hop on bus, getting of at the Colosseum and Forum which was amazing, before continuing on the bus. Day 2 we took the Metro to the Vatican where we had a tour booked to avoid the queues. Wonderful, especially St Peter's and the steps up to the top are well worth doing if you have the stamina. Day 3 we walked to the Trevi Fountain (unfortunately no water as being restored) on to the Pantheon (brilliant) and then on to Piazza Navona (visit the basilica here very impressive) and then to Campo de Fiori (market with flowers). Went shopping and back to the Spanish Steps again. Final day visited Palazzo Barbarini and back to the Trevi via a different route. We walked to the gardens around Villa Borghese and finished up at the Hard Rock Café for lunch. Unfortunately, we had to make our way back to our lovely hotel and collect our luggage in time for our shuttle to the airport. We said a very sad farewell to the staff and enjoyed a final journey through the streets of Rome. It was all amazing and would love to return one day, especially to see the Trevi Fountain in all its glory with water.

Nice, quiet hotel not far from train station

Data di pubblicazione: 16-ott-2014
I pro: Quiet Neighborhood. Friendly staff.
A very nice, quiet hotel not too far from the main train station in Rome. We stayed here for 4 nights, and it was relatively easy to get too after a very long flight (train + taxi). It was a very quiet neighborhood and only 5-10 minute walk to the main train station. The Metro allowed quick/easy access to other parts of Rome. Rooms were nice and breakfast was sufficient. If you are looking for a more quiet hotel, that is still close to everything and dont mind a small walk, i would recommend this place.
