Conveniently located hotel

Data di pubblicazione: 9-apr-2014
I pro: It was a pleasant stay for an exhausted family.
I contro: An extra chair would be nice in the room.
Posizione: The location was just a convenient choice between Charles de Gaulle Aiport and Garmisch Partenkirchen. We left after one night.
We arrived quite late in the evening and so ordered room service which was pleasantly surprisingly very well priced. Our rooms were nicely decorated, comfortable and well equipped. Breakfast the next morning was set in a very pleasant dining area and we all enjoyed the food.

Good Budget Stopover Hotel

Data di pubblicazione: 7-ott-2013 su
Hotel is very conveniently located for the Paris Autobahn and about 100m from the French border. Perfectly placed for a travelling stopover. City centre is about a 45 minute walk or a 5-10 minute drive. Immediate surroundings are fairly industrial

Great front desk

Data di pubblicazione: 17-ago-2013 su
Been here a few times. The staff has always been nice and especially helpful every single time I've stopped here. Close to French border, and just 10mn from downtown Saarbrucken. Rooms are always clean, and seem larger than the other Mercure downtown. This is a better location AND you get free parking. I would definitely recommend. However, not much if anything around, although a gas station with snacks, sandwiches is right around the corner!

OK, though not as advertised

Data di pubblicazione: 4-ago-2013 su
I requested a 2 bedded room, but this was not provided. Neither was the tea/coffee making facility which was advertised. On complaining we were moved to a new room which did satisfy these requirements, though got the impression that they were doing us a favour - we were told that this was a 'premium' room which would normally cost more. There is obviously a mis-match between what is advertised on and reality - I trust this will be investigated. Staff were however very polite and helpful.

Right by the French border

Data di pubblicazione: 21-gen-2013 su
This is a great place to stay at if you are looking to stop in Germany before entering France, which is located about 1/3 mile away. The room was very clean, the front desk very helpful. The bed was comfortable, and I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a cheap alternative to staying in the downtown area of Saarbrucken, the capital city of the smallest state in Germany. The downtown area is about 5-7 minutes away by car, if a visit to this medieval city would be of interest. It is easy to navigate, and I would recommend to anyone wanting to have best access to France & Germany.

Bland hotel terrible restaurant, go elsewhere!

Data di pubblicazione: 4-set-2012
I pro: Leaving first thing
I contro: The whole experience
Posizione: Industrial estate on ex nazi internment camp should have been left as a memorial
On first arriving at the hotel it looked pretty awful in an industrial sate next to a McDonald's and frankly it would have been better eating at the McDonald's. Never in my life have I had such a disappointing meal. From the 40 minute wait for the main which turned out to be bland, uncooked and lacking in vegetables, with the sauce overly salted to the uncooked eggy creme brûlée for dessert this restaurant is possibly the worst in history. In all honesty the rooms were adequate if you just want a place to sleep, however all of our nights sleeps were ruined by the nauseous feeling brought on by our distatorous meal.

An okay hotel in a very industrial city

Data di pubblicazione: 27-ago-2012 su
We bicycled in Germany and stopped in Saarbrucken, as it was at the end of the range of distance we could pedal in a day. Finding the hotel (on the south side of the city) was difficult as I could not ride on the main highway and I was foreced to take numerous side streets that skirted huge factory and industrialcomplexes. Overall, an acceptable hotel - the room was okay but the bathroom was kind of grungy. The wireless internet is not free and after paying, I learned the signal strength in the room was very weak. The hotel's parking lot is adjacent to the site of a former police prison camp from World War II.
