A comfortable hotel in Saarbruecken

We spent two days in Saarbruecken exploring the city. The hotel was circa six kilometers away from the city center. But it was close to the German-French garden, which was beautiful. The building of the hotel is not aesthetically pleasing - it is a plain box, looking grey. Yet the hotel itself was comfortable, clean and neat. We would recommend the breakfast buffet. We were treated politely and respectfully. Personally, I was impressed by the fact that this hotel had images and historical notes about the 'Gestapo-Lager' nearby.

I pro: Hotelanlage und die Busverbindung in guter lage.
I contro: Freundliches Personal. Speisekarte zu dürftig.Frühstück viel zu teuer,

Es war zwar nur eine Übernachtung aber das Badezimmer war relativ "runtergekommen" unter unserem Bett lag Müll, am Bettkasten ,welcher mit Stoff bezogen war, waren Flecken und die Lüftung war viel zu laut.

Sejour pas top, couverture trop petite pour deux personnes, tv allemande, une seule chaine francaise, petit dejeuner bof pas de produit francais, beaucoup trop de produit allemand. Cet hotel ne.pense pas aux etrangers.

Hôtel bien situé à prix très intéressant

I pro: Sa situation (du point de vue pratique), le prix très raisonnable pour des prestations de bonne qualité. La WiFi gratuite.
I contro: Le seul point faible est l'absence totale de charme du quartier. On ne peut rien y faire!
Posizione: L'hôte se trouve tout près d'une entrée de l'autoroute A6, et à proximité du casino et du centre de loisirs aquatiques (Erlebnisbad) «Calypso»
Ce Mercure n'est assurément pas un «hôtel de charme» (il est situé dans une zone commerciale/industrielle), MAIS il offre d'excellentes prestations (chambres impeccables, buffet petit-déj gargantuesque, parking privatif, restaurant très correct avec des spécialités locales) pour un prix vraiment modique. De plus il est idéalement placé tout près d'une entrée de l'autoroute A6 (vers Metz/Paris dans un sens, Karlsruhe dans l'autre), et à proximité du casino (Spielbank) et du centre de loisirs aquatiques (Erlebnisbad) «Calypso».

Super freundliches Personal

Bei Expedia hatten wir ein Doppelzimmer mit einem Bett und mit wasserkocher gebucht. Bekommen haben wir ein twinnbett in der schlechtesten Zimmerkategorie. Von dem freundlichen Personal hatten wir die visuelle Bestätigung bekommen das dies auf expedias Kappe ging. Das Personal von mercure hat sich zu unserer vollsten Zufriedenheit um uns gekümmert und uns unsere Wünsche anstandslos am nächsten Morgen erfüllt. Das Service Personal im Restaurant ist fachlich sehr gut ausgebildet und dementsprechend auch freundlich und kompetent. Kurz um..... jeder zeit wieder. Achso in die Stadt dauert es Grade mal 7 min mit dem Pkw.

Decent hotel, but in need of repairs. Carpets are worn down, showers leaky, and it all has a run-down feel to it. However, it offers good facilities (including on-site restaurant, not a great one but it's there) for its price range.
