Excellent location, great staff and dog friendly

Data di pubblicazione: 21-gen-2015
I pro: Very convenient to all that Santa Fe offers, valet parking, great staff and did I mention dog friendly!!
I contro: Nothing comes to mind.
Posizione: A short walk to the Plaza and all the retail outlets and near to all the local galleries and Canyon road Galleries.
We went for a long weekend and enjoyed the hotel especially the Agave Bar where we had dinner and drinks, there are other great restaurants within walking distance, don't miss Tia Sophia's breakfast its a local legend.

Excellent location, Great service, Good room...

Data di pubblicazione: 9-gen-2015
I pro: friendly, professional staff lovely view (and warm kiva) once upgraded great location
I contro: bathrooms, thin walls
We lucked into a terrific price for a four-star hotel, The Eldorado, except that I'd take exception with it being designated four-star. It felt more like a three-star, which with Expedia's pricing, still made it a deal, especially considering that it's perfectly located and our stay coincided with high-peak holiday season. We were given a king deluxe room which was comfortable and clean, in addition to being a bit bigger than many standard hotel rooms. However, the walls were thin--we heard a lot of comings and goings outside in the hall--which woke me us up early. (Wah! I'm on vacation!) Voices from outside were so clear and audible, I began to wonder if those passing by could hear us as well. Yikes! Additionally, the bathroom was mediocre at best: It was small with an awkwardly-accessible shower stall. The hotel provided some nice toiletries, but there was nothing four-star about it. After two days, I asked the desk clerks for an upgrade, and they happily complied: We were moved to the top floor where we enjoyed the warmth of a kiva, a lovely view, and significantly less hall noise. The service was wonderful; the staff and housekeeping were exemplary. I don't want to bad-mouth the hotel; to be fair, I would recommend The Eldorado if snagged for the same deal we received. Otherwise, I'd say that I'd be disappointed in our stay if we paid four-star price for a three-star hotel.

I pro: Room was nice size.
I contro: Desk clerks could be friendlier and not scowl at the customers.
Posizione: Excellent location to Town square and restaurants.
Nothing exceptional except very cooperative parking garage employees. Outrageous fee charged for parking.

Construction Alert!

Data di pubblicazione: 5-gen-2015
Frankly, I was disappointed. I chose this hotel because I had been at several conferences there in the past. It is a nice hotel, but as it is currently being run, it just misses the mark. Our main complaint was that the hotel is under construction, a fact we were not warned about. The grinding and pounding started promptly at 8:00 a.m. When we complained, they were able to change our room, and there were lots of apologies, but the staff said that it was a management decision not to advise people of the construction, and implied it wouldn't change. Additionally, although the staff was generally friendly and helpful, they appeared to be overworked. Service at the restaurant was spotty. There was a great lounge area off the main lobby, but it was cold and cavernous and the bar was always closed. The fireplace wasn't lit, although it was very cold. It could have been a great place to gather, but wasn't being promoted as such. Next time we head to Santa Fe I'll look for other lodging.

over rated

This hotel promises a high-end experience but their only exemplary skill seems to be extracting profit in every way possible for mediocrity. I will not stay there again.

Location is very good.

Data di pubblicazione: 1-gen-2015
I pro: location
I contro: Restaurant seemed understaffed and small. Staff frienfdly but not warm.
Posizione: Old Santa Fe center.
Room was excellent. No noise from others. Good HVAC system. TV channels very limited. We arrived day before xmas. Restaurant was clearly not prepared to deal with the load of guests coming in for breakfast on xmas morning. Restaurant was clearly understaffed. It had people waiting for their order for more than 30 minutes. There was a buffet in the back but nobody was informed about that. Hotel staff is friendly, but we did not get a welcoming feeling when checking in or during our 6 days stay. The hotel is good, but hospitality from staff lacks.

Not what you would expect

Data di pubblicazione: 30-dic-2014
Reservation was not properly entered. Ended up in a room with a tarp over window, construction noise early in morning. Room service was non-existent (called repeatedly over a period of hours and went to voicemail on multiple days -- totally ridiculous). Extensive noise from hallways -- slamming doors, loud conversations.

A Lot Less Expensive!

Data di pubblicazione: 28-dic-2014
Posizione: Location is only a bliock and a half from the Santa Fe Square, uphill, and is within walking distance of many good restaurants.
Not only a great property, the rooms were actually much cheaper than I paid on Expedia. Concierge was very helpful in obtaining dinner reservations on both Christmas Eve and Christmas night. A very pleasant stay.

Nice Hotel with easy access to the Plaza area

Data di pubblicazione: 1-dic-2014
Really nice and what you expect in a four star property. Found it odd that there were balconies all around the hotel but no access from the rooms and they appeared not to be used for anything.
