Hotel a Walterboro - St. George

“Mariah was very nice however the pool was closed “because it rained earlier today” which seemed like a silly reason, so the kids weren’t able to swim after riding in the car which was the plan. The room key stopped working and had to be replaced after we had to go back to the front desk several times. The room was fine, the carpet needs to be replaced. FYI the Cracker Barrel next door was absolutely horrific but it was literally the only dining option in the area.”

“Dear General Manager, ​I am writing to formally bring to your attention the unacceptable conditions we encountered during our recent one-night stay at your Walterboro, GA location. We arrived and checked in at approximately 10:00 PM, having paid $180 for the night. ​Upon arrival, we discovered that the elevators were out of service, forcing us to use the stairwells. “Clean room, clean & well-stocked breakfast area. Staff friendly & helpful. Nice stay.”

“Do not stay here especially if you are a solo female traveler! The housekeeping man walked into my room in the morning at 9 am no knocking or any notification or identifying who he was the staff did not seem surprised by the incident either. The rooms are redone but there were crumbs in one of the beds and several cockroaches. Just don’t stay here.”

“We have stayed here many times in the past five years and this time was not as nice a stay. Our room smelled like someone cooked in it. The beds were bowing to the outside edges, very uncomfortable. The microwave was missing a front leg and rattled. The shower is worn looking. We stayed here in Feb 2025 and everything was so much better along with multiple times prior to then.”

“Made a reservation by Expedia. When I arrived I asked for a first floor room because I handicapped and have trouble with stairs. The clerk said everyone wants first floor. You have a cheap rate from your reservation so it will be ten dollars extra CASH for first floor. This seems inappropriate to me to charge extra for people who cannot handle stairs. At least if there is a fee for being handicapped, it should be disclosed in the listing on Expedia”

“My TV didn’t work. The front desk person tried over and over again to get the maintenance guy to fix it. He never showed up. As long as I was there he never even responded.”

“This is an older motel and it shows. Rooms have been somewhat upgraded but the electrical system is not good. My microwave ran twenty seconds and then tripped the breaker. I was able to reset it, but it kept tripping it. Upstairs room was having a very loud party.”
