“The room was spacious with a good amount of storage whilst the room did not have air conditioning it was cool and a comfortable temperature, which to say it was 30 degrees outside was good. There was a fan available, but we didn't need to use it. Room was clean and the bathroom was acceptably clean. There was however slight mould spots on some of the grouting and sealant in the shower. It was quiet and peaceful.

“I’ve stayed here before purely because they still have baths, and even then I had to overlook the tired décor, worn‑out furnishings, lack of modern comforts, uncomfortable beds, no air con, single glazing, barely any plug sockets and the £15 daily parking fee.
But this stay was somehow worse.
Their so‑called “comfort” rooms are actually the lowest budget rooms, ranked below standard, proving they don’t understand the meaning of comfort at all. They even denied using the term despite happily...

“Had to cancel our trip due to a medical emergency and flight cancellation. Contacted all hotels we had booked—five refunded us without issue. Even Ryanair did. Cairn Hotel was the only one that flat-out refused, no empathy, no flexibility, not even a partial credit. I explained everything, even pleaded—but they just hid behind their “policy.” I could’ve paid more for the flexible rate, but budget was tight. Shame, because we were really looking forward to staying. Very disappointing experience.”

“Our room had plenty of space iron/ironing board/hairdryer all provided as well as toiletries Plenty of choice for breakfast and a small but tasty menu in the evening I think there was maintenance work ongoing and the hotel does need a comprehensive overhaul Plenty of parking spaces but location is right in the centre and we didn’t use our car at all during the stay Stars of the break were the staff so friendly and helpful and always had a smile on their faces Thank you !”
