“We checked ourselves in and left a couple of hours later (no staff seen). I hadn’t realised I’d booked a room with shared bathroom and the bathroom was on first floor and we were on the second - we only saw one shower and 2 toilets for all the shared rooms. There’s half carpet in the standalone toilet, which is gross. The rooms themselves are fine, a bit rough round the edges. I’m baffled at the positive reviews, it’s very basic and not good value - we chose to drive 2.5 hours home rather than...

“We were “welcomed” by a waitress whose attitude ranged somewhere between laziness and open disdain. When we asked if we could have dinner, she said she could ask if there was a table available, and in the meantime we could sit at one of the bar tables. We politely agreed. What followed was over thirty minutes of watching her wander aimlessly, gossip with colleagues, and do anything but her job. Not once did she come over to give us an update. “The room was clean and comfortable but we were in the top of the building so it wasn’t the best room available. Which we didn’t mind as we it was reasonable value and we booked last minute. However the people in the establishment were a little rowdy and we felt uncomfortable on the evening having our meal. The breakfast the following morning was unorganised with staff who didn’t know what to do and was definitely not worth the money.”
