“We were caught off guard as we thought this was a typical hotel. It was run more like an air b&b. You get a code to the main entrance and your room. Our room was a bit difficult to find as we had to go down, then past a bar and the gym before entering another locked door to access our room. Our room was nicely decorated and clean, but we surprised by the waterbed. And the barn door that covers either the bathroom or the shower - and the glass shower didn’t have a door. “Very historic, almost like a museum. The furniture are all vintage and the room size is huge, very bright and very clean bathroom with handicap access. Hot delicious Breakfast, location is historic with lots of historical murals in nearby buildings. Price is very reasonable, highly recommended for an experience of the past.”

Looking back I don't know how they could have simplified the directions bc it was very involved but it was a tad stressful to follow all the codes and instructions. “We were in town for my mother’s funeral. When the place we chose for the reception afterwards had a sudden catastrophic emergency, the hotel staff graciously allowed us to move everything to their breakfast area. Was it what we planned? No. But all of our out of town family would have been unable to gather and remember my mom if they hadn’t come through for us at the absolute last moment. We will never forget this kindness!
