“The staff were some of the best we have ever met and met our needs perfectly. They ensured we had a room that was suitable and went the extra mile to achieve this so a big thank you. The property is in the process of being updated but this didn't affect our stay except perhaps to see how well it appears to be going and I'm sure when this is finished they will have a hotel to be proud of. They have only owned this hotel for about 6 months and it is obvious they are making huge efforts to update...

“The room was very run down with broken wood around the windows, the bathtub was covered in hair and the cup in the bathroom had old toothpaste in it, the handle on the bathroom door was loose and didn't lock and the TV remote didn't work.”

“The lady owner was friendly and lovely from the moment I arrived. I was made to feel very welcome and was even treated to a plate of home made biscuits. The bed was comfy and I had an amazing night's sleep. Breakfast was served at a time that was convenient to me and everything was very fresh. The bread and jam were also home made. The property is in a very quiet location and in lovely gardens and provides a great place to stay during a visit to the lake district. ”

“The entire hotel was absolutely freezing cold including the bar area. Also having a glass shower cubicle in the bedroom is not acceptable. ”

“Room is very basic. Breakfast is basic. Nice chef though, came specially to apologise for the limited options. In general the B&B is overrated extremely overpriced. Not happy at all that I booked it”
