“Over many years, I have stayed in many hotels and houses. I own rental homes on the island of Kauai for the past 36 years. Our stay at the Western States inn was wonderful, the room was very clean with all items and facilities in good working order upon arrival and throughout our stay to departure. It was hot during our time in San Miguel, night and day, the air conditioning was great and ran well. The Manager, Prietes, was very attentive and pleasant, he checked in with us daily to make sure...

“It was a good location. That's why we chose it. But it was very "bare bones." The soap/shampoo in the shower was awful. There was a smell of smoke even though I thought we had a non smoking room. And when we woke up there was no hot water. It was remedied after my husband went to speak to the front desk. I would say the bathroom.waa clean but the shower has mold in it.”

“We arrived late after a very long drive, and the check-in staff were friendly & efficient. Our room was very clean, the beds were SO comfy, and the room had unexpected amenities like a magnifying mirror and little vanity corner. I would definitely stay here again!”

“Don’t stay on the third floor. All the equipment for air conditioning is on the roof and you can hear it in your room. Impossible to sleep at night. It’s the noisiest place I’ve ever stayed. The bed was really lumpy. Never experienced that before. Sheets nice quality. If you like giant almost round hard pillows, you’re in luck. Otherwise bring your own pillow.Bathroom was lovely and had wonderful amenities. Bathrobes were included, which was a nice touch. Breakfast did not have bacon....

“Originally we were assigned a second floor room. Although elevators were available my 92 year old mother wanted a ground level room. I went back into the lobby and 5 minutes later we had gotten a ground level room right in front of a handicapped parking spot. Excellent service”
