The fireplace was perfect for a romantic evening cuddled up on the couch (playing Mario cart 😄) By day we explored the local area neither of us drink wine but the area is stunning. It was very confusing to find our accommodation and we had to call multiple times before anyone answered. The room provided was not the one we booked, and the property looked very run-down. Perhaps new owners but they certainly weren’t very helpful. “We had a wonderful time at this beautiful historic hotel. The staff are the greatest asset, and provide genuine, heartfelt excellent service in everything they do. The team that looks after the rooms is also exceptional. Having seen some other people’s reviews, I think you need to bear in mind that this is a building which is more than 100 years old, and it has been updated to a very comfortable and pleasant experience. “Beautiful elegant room and a super comfortable bed. The grounds and gardens were delightful. Our host was lovely and helpful. My only negative is the horrible acrylic blankets on the bed, hot and uncomfortable to sleep under. We will be back with byo blankets.”
