“This is a cute and charming place if you like that old fashioned vibe. It had too many decorations for my taste though. The kitchen is very dated and the breakfast was self serve and very basic. Our room was very dusty, but it must be difficult to dust around the many items on display. There are a lot of labels and signs for the rules and regulations which took away from some of the charm.”

“The room did not appear as the picture advertised. There was a smell of urination in the room. The place is outdated in need of redo. The air conditioner was very loud and we had to unplug it in order to sleep at night. The TV did not work. When I voiced these concerns to the staff, it was brushed aside with a comment "yes that has been said before". The area was unsafe to walk in. I would not recommend this place.”

“As close to right downtown as can be at this price point. Understood what I was getting into with shared bathrooms, hearing other guests absolutely destroying the toilet while I'm taking a shower, not surprised the laundry card machine and multiple vending machines ate my change; it's whatever, I've stayed in student housing before and have had a great time. This time, however, was completely derailed by finding a bed bug directly before bed halfway through the trip. The front desk staff were...

“The hotel is clean but dated. The beds were small doubles so cramped for two people. Parking was easy and staff were efficient. They provide muffins and coffee and tea for breakfast which is nice.”

“Wistful location and a beautiful room. Very large with a nice sitting area, decorated with a spa like touch. Very comfy bed, waffle towels and bathrobe. Local toiletries to make you feel connected to the area. Conveniently located across the street from one of the best restaurants in St John’s the Mallard Cottage. An authentic experience all around with a luxury touch!”
