“Fantastic stay at the Allanton inn. Bar and restaurant is great, especially having a drink in the large outdoor area. Staff are very helpful and extremely friendly. The bed in our room was a little hard but it this is a minor issue for such a great stay. ”

“Stayed for one night, the bar area was really busy when I arrived at around 1845hrs. Booking in was straightforward and the room was comfortable with an en-suite. The locals in the bar were very welcoming and friendly. I had a full breakfast, which was excellent, the staff were also very friendly. If you are looking for somewhere to stay, the location is an excellent base for touring the area, and the price of rooms are good value. ”

“Pub was great, food was excellent. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Our room, Senna Cove was very comfortable, shower fantastic and bed really comfy. The photo on the website is possibly a wee bit out of date. Pub really welcomes dogs, ours was very well catered for and loved his sausages for breakfast. Pub would benefit from having a bin for used poo bags. There are none around. Overall a great experience and we would definitely return ”

The en-suite bathroom appears to have been recently upgraded and is amongst the best I have encountered in hotels of this size. The Newcastle Arms would be my first choice if I were visiting the area again.”

“Had one night at the Granby Inn but it won’t be our last. Very friendly hosts. Lovely spacious bedroom, very comfortable bed. The meal in the restaurant was excellent, excellent service. Breakfast was just as good. Very friendly pub and will visit again. ”

“We had a really excellent 5 day stay. Our room (3) was huge with 2 kingsize beds and a large sofa. Bathroom was also a good size. The breakfast was good with excellent friendly, prompt service. A really good location for visiting the area and not too busy. Parking was never a problem. It would have been useful to have some plug-in bed side lights rather than battery operated nightlights. Overall, a wonderful stay and we would definitely stay here again. The staff were incredibly friendly and...
