Mutton dressed as lamb

A very mixed bag; some positives to recommend it but far below my expectations of a Stamford Hotel. If you want a hotel with decent swimming pool come here. If you want excellent customer care, don’t.
The air-conditioning didn’t work to the extent you had to open the door to let cooler air in from the lobby; the repair to the air conditioning resulted in an improvement but still more akin to comfort cooling than air-con. Reception were "sorry you are having a problem, sir".... sorry didn't really fix the problem though. A waitress that took my order and completely ignored my partner’s – three times. Free WiFi..... you are joking?….. why would we have free WiFi in 2016 in a five star hotel? The hotel information system is all “on-line” according to the leaflet in the room….. except it isn’t. When you follow the web address you get nowhere. House-keeping usually serviced the room late in the afternoon – after walking in the heat and humidity of Brisbane in the morning, we had to go to the pool to grab fresh towels for a shower – the morning ones still being damp and the room unserviced. The shower had mildew between the tiles. There were plaster repairs in several parts of our room that no-one had bothered to paint over to match the rest of the walls. One of the three lifts servicing over 20 floors was permanently locked out to "priority service". This resulted in protracted waits for service on the 16th floor - often it was full when it arrived so you had to wait another 5min
