50 min wait for room we'd already paid for!

Terrible service. We arrived at 10 pm and then waited for 50 minutes to get our room. The front desk guy had problems with the booking from Hotels.com so he wouldn't give us the key. We'd already paid, so it was an issue between him and the website but he wouldn't give us the key until he could see that he was getting paid. He finally relented after I started calling hotels.com and then when I started speaking in a very loud voice about our situation and making other guests nervous. My wife, at 37 weeks pregnant and with an early morning work obligation the next day did not need this stress. He shouldn't have made us wait more than 3 minutes and I shouldn't have had to start acting like I was about to lose it in order to get our key. Then, the room itself smelled like a super clean diaper pail - you know, not like diapers, but that grossly sweet disinfectant one uses on diaper pails. I expected that the neighborhood would be unattractive, but the surly looking people smoking by the entrances diminished the charm further.
