Hyatt Alternates Between Great and So-So

The Hyatt is a lovely space, so much improved over a high-rise hotel with slow elevators. I asked for a quiet room while also mentioning that I recently had knee replacement. For some reason, I was booked into the third building from the lobby in a section that looked like an old motel with unimproved rooms and a single light in the bathroom where every face looked like a skull. I was not told that this building had not been upgraded. Because I had unpacked, I waited three days to ask for a better room, and they complied right away. The upgraded room was of the quality I should have received from the beginning. No one said in advance that the better rooms were those with inside hallways. The difference was day and night. The drinks in the lobby lounge were $11-$15, the food was seriously over-priced, and guests are charged $25 daily for a resort fee and $35 for parking. For the most part, the staff is friendly, helpful, and accommodating. If you're on a budget, beware of the extra costs and ask for an updated room.
