A 1,640 foot (500 m) stretch of the Upper Ocoee River was narrowed by two-thirds to create the drops and eddies needed for a slalom course. Today, the course is watered only on summer weekends, 34 days a year, for use by guided rafts and private boaters. “The room was clean and comfortable. Check-in and housekeeping staff were all very friendly and helpful. Free buffet breakfast was provided. The hotel is just under a mile from downtown, but it can be a difficult walk as there is no sidewalk at parts and you will need to cross a busy road. The hotel is also pet-friendly. I would definitely stay again if I’m back in the area. ”
