“The cottage was great but the check-in was very stressful. Owner did not send email with info until Saturday morning and it went to my Spam folder. No one was on site when I first got there but someone working in the garden got hold of the owner and let me in. Website says check-in was after 3PM but owner said it was 5PM. Needs to update that on website. After a10-hour drive I was not happy.”

“Please listen closely!! If you pass this place up, I truly feel sorry for you. I am on a first time adventure to Maine from Indiana and this is my FAVORITE place stay of ALL TIME. I wish I had done my homework and planned more time at Desert of Maine. Our cabin was cozy after a nice evening by the fire. Loved the shower!! "An exceptional property. Located right on Main Street, just steps away from shops and restaurants, it offers warm, impeccably clean, and remarkably quiet rooms. The staff is always helpful—ready to assist with anything you might need or simply to share a friendly chat. The atmosphere is refined, elegant, and inviting, with that classic New England charm that makes the stay even more enjoyable. Breakfast is generous, and the on‑site restaurant serves excellent dishes for both lunch and dinner. Parking is easy, convenient, and feels very safe. For kids, after a day of exploring, a dip in the beautiful indoor pool is the perfect way to unwind. A place that truly combines comfort, care, and atmosphere. Highly recommended."
