“No one mentioned the train the comes by at all hours of the night and blows its horn! Awful! The air conditioning was loud and we couldn’t keep it on. There was no phone, no Kleenex. There was ONE piece of soap for two people. The room, was clean! But I’ll never stay there again! Elsie, was nice but I guess she’s afraid we’d steal something because she requires a 50.00 deposit before you get your key! And she had to check the room before we left. Nope, we will never go back”

“Room smelled like urine. Second room was a little better. Found candy on the bed. Shower did not look thoroughly cleaned. Area was very suspicious and I did not feel safe (homeless, car break ins) But the cherry on top, the pullout bed mattress was absolutely terrible ( un known stains all over- no mattress cover) . I should’ve taken a picture but was so exhausted after a late check in, change of room & driving from the Bay Area that I didn’t. We survived the night but will definitely not be...

“Valley Inn review Relatively quiet stay the occasional train made quite a racket. The bathroom was clean, but the shower curtain was not long enough to keep water in the shower and the floor got soaked. There’s no bathmat. I had to use an extra towel which I had to request from housekeeping. There is an ashtray in the room. Not sure why if it’s a non-smoking room. “Nicely renovated motel in gritty part of downtown Merced. Room, staff, breakfast were quite nice. Close to highway and gas station but not walkable to downtown shopping/theaters or anything. Stayed during 4th of July weekend and there were illegal fireworks going off in neighborhood for at least two nights-motel did offer free earplugs.”

“The room was good for what we needed it for just a 2 night stay. It can tell that it had some repairs done but hey all repairs that were done did it's job. Air conditioning was amazing and was very cold through out the night not like others that keep turning off. Maybe have maintenance check outlets and hair dryers every once in a while to see that they are working properly but other than that it was a blast. “I found the staff demonstrated over & above customer service..I felt comfortable snd safe. It’s a family place for a safe stay while you come & go.. the parking was well lit as well. I was traveling alone to attend a wedding and other families were coming & going to soccer games..with that said, it’s important families and people traveling alone feel comfortable and safe. Thank you for providing a welcoming place to stay.”
