“Nice setting”

“This is listed as a four-star hotel on Google, but that is not the case. It is definitely 2 1/2 as listed on Expedia. They did not have reliable Wi-Fi or any of the basic channels to watch sports. Based on other reviews it had recently changed ownership. They need to up their game or the poor reviews will start pouring in.”

The lodging is cool, wish they had two bedrooms but the star suite is decent for two adults and two teens. The food in the AM is slightly lacking imo, and the buffet doesn’t open till like 11:00 am on a Sunday. And I don’t think you can get a mimosa or Bloody Mary in the morning either. “We rented a chalet which was very old and had a very musty smell to it, it was not clean it all. There were cobwebs in corners, dirty sinks, and the handrails and Banister rails to the stairs and Loft have never been washed down. After wiping it down three times there was still dirt on it as well as dust and cob web in between the bannister rails. “It’s right in the center of Broad Street with a really nice cafe downstairs that’s open at 7:00am every day and has fantastic homemade bacon breakfast burritos. The room is clean and beautiful. I had some difficulty at first getting into the building and into my room with the respective codes. The trick is to wait until the door entirely stops buzzing and only then push it open. “The host was very accommodating. The property sets close to Rough & Ready hwy- especially cottage #10, which backs up within feet of the hwy. Bring an extra blanket if weather is on the cool side. ”

“The hotel was nice. Location was good - you can walk into the old town of Grass Valley easily. Breakfast was very good and the dining room nice. There was a manager's hosted happy hour which was a nice touch. The bathrooms do need updating but everything worked fine. Housekeeping staff was very nice.”
