Hotel a Donnellson

“The clerk at check in was nice. They even checked our room to see if it was done to let us in a bit early. They said the room was done but we found someone ice cream cones in the fridge, the bathtub had lots of hair in it that was not ours, the shower cur6was really dirty and needed washed. We tried to turn on the TV. It didn't work, tried to call front desk to tell them, phone didn't work, toilet was broken and ran after flushing it (unless you jiggled the handle). Had to walk down to desk to...

“Room was clean, location conveniently located for an overnight stop. Close to several places to eat. The Gate City Restuarant and Bar is where we ate. Very good restaurant.”

“This was a very old hotel. The flooring in the room had many gaps and was peeling from the bottom. The bathroom sink was very small, and did not have a stopper. The small refrigerator was quite noisy. Otherwise, the room was clean. I would only recommend this for the budget traveler.”

The room was clean and comfortable, and the free hot breakfast was great! Staff were all pleasant, helpful, and busy—everywhere I looked, folks were cleaning up and making sure everything was in tip top shape. “The food was wonderful and very fresh! The beds were very comfortable! Each room is thermostatically controlled and has its own charm. The floors and stairs are creaky but adds to the charm of an old home. Laurie is such a great host! We enjoyed her company very much! She made our stay so nice! We would definitely stay there again!”

“The property was clean and the beds were comfortable. We were impressed. It is a little Out of town so you cannot walk to shops or restaurants but it is only a 5 minute drive to restaurants and shops in Nauvoo.”
