Only as a last resort

Recently in the news we hear about many Dublin hotels inflating their prices with the economic upturn, to the point it does damage to the Irish tourist industry. I feel Landsdowne Hotel is a prime example of this recent trend. With the windfall of tourist cash for their over priced cramped noisy rooms they should invest in upgrading their dingy facilities. Looks like they haven't put a penny into upkeep since Fawlty Towers was a TV popular series. With the hefty price, one would assume a breakfast would be included - don't assume. For whatever glitch on hotels(dot)com or through their own system, they gave us guff about whether it was included. After trying to eat what was labelled on the menu as "Eggs Benedict" I wish I didn't get the breakfast. My wife's meal was much worse. If you're unlucky enough to find yourself staying there, with what little money you do have left over - take my advice and walk a short way up to Baggot Street. You'll find tasty and edible breakfasts for a fraction of the price you'd be paying at Fawlty Towers - I mean, Landsdowne Hotel. And getting parking included is a gamble - the hotel will tell you there are some free parking spots on the side street on Saturday but don't listen to them. There're just a few of them and they're usually picked off by locals. I wish I could say 1 redeeming thing about the place, but I can't.
