“We had a lovely weekend stay at this country pub with rooms. The owners are lovely and very friendly and welcoming. Its a dog friendly place, so for us, that was perfect. Our room (room 2) was on the ground floor and had a door leading out to the garden, great if you have a dog. The room was a good size and very comfortable, with tea and coffee making facilities, tv and a hairdryer. The king sized bed was good and the bathroom was lovely. We ate dinner and breakfast here both days and the food...

“We booked for a 2 night stay and were made so welcoming and friendly pn arrival. Fabulous room and ensuite beautifully clean and comfortable. Lovely flowers fruit and homemade shortbread made it a special treat. Delicious food and friendly host .Will definitely book again.A must for a quiet break away.This is a littke gem tucked away in lovely surroundings. .”

“Very friendly staff in popular and welcoming village local. We only stayed one night and didn't eat here though the menu looked great. Obviously popular with locals and tourists alike for a small village it was busy on the Saturday night we stayed. Room was clean and comfortable though dated. The bed was a bit older than some but perfectly pleasant. The surrounding area is stunning with plenty to do within a short drive and lots of walking on your doorstep. Overall a most enjoyable stay. ”

“Stayed over for one night passing through on a cycling trip. The host was extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful storing and charging our bikes. Only open for B&B but fortunately the local tearoom opens on weekend evenings for meals. Well stocked community shop next door and community pub at the end of the street. Great village and area.”

“Accessing the hotel defeated my sat-nav (there is only one route in) and the property, once located, lacks kerb appeal. However, the proprietess was very friendly and helpful, the rooms are large and spacious though they would have benefitted from a more efficient heating system. for a pub in a central location, it was surprisingly quiet at night. Breakfast was cooked to order and was plentiful. For the price it is excellent value. A good place for an overnight stay. ”

“This house is truly brilliant, lots of space inside and out, very clean, lots of supplies and well though out ‘extras’ eg, fire lighters for bbq and log burner, sewing kit, games etc. I had contacted the owners for some other information and their response was immediate and supportive, all very reassuring. The house is in a quiet area of the park, easy access to the beach, neighbours very friendly, and extremely good value for money. I can’t recommend this property enough, and hope to return one...

“This was a great break in a gorgeous property. Everything was as described, including the facilities and location / proximity to the beach. I had no concerns about the dogs in the garden with the high and fully secure fence and all rooms were spacious to accommodate us. This was our third stay in Southerness and most certainly the best property we have stayed in. We will be back.”
