“Unfortunately the room requested was not available as we had our small dog with us so were allocated a dog friendly room which was fine but it only had a 4’6 bed which really is not expected these days. Following the downgrading of the room by the hotel and being advised that the room requested would be cheaper. The new price unfortunately was not honoured despite numerous requests for a refund so overall not the best experience.”

“Friendly staff, clean rooms and quite comfortable. I would have scored it higher if the thermostat on the radiator was working. The room became uncomfortably warm during the night, and I had to open the window because I couldn’t adjust the radiator”

“The carpet in our room had not been vacuumed, there were food crumbs on the floor. We wanted to check in 15 minutes early and were charged 15 pounds. I felt that was a little high of a charge for 15 minutes. ”

“We had a wonderful experience at The Mortimer’s Arms. If you are visiting Paultons Park/Peppa Pig World, the location is unbeatable (within walking distance). The hotel is exceptionally dog-friendly. They provided a water bowl, treats, and a toy for our dog, which was such a lovely gesture. The rooms are spacious and high-end; we easily fit a large dog crate in the room with plenty of floor space to spare. The complimentary breakfast was high quality and delicious. “Excellent stay at the Chequers Inn again for a week for the New Year. Beautiful room, good food, clean, lovely staff - shout out to Angela who went above & beyond for us! Lovely compassionate email sent to us following the very sad death of my Dad whilst we were away. Only downside - the bar closed at 10:30pm on New Years Eve! We will definitely return.”

“Nice modern stylish room, prompt email replies from staff regarding flexible check ins. Very comfy room. Good breakfast included. Only drawback was when the room next door had their tv on late at night it actually woke me up in my room! But not really much which could be done about that. Also milk missing from tea station in morning but assume that was a simple oversight. ”

“Well the hotel is pleasant and characterful. The heating was stuck on in the room with only a small window to open. Unbearable poor nights sleep. On complaining nothing could be done apparently so we were moved to another room. Which was much better. ”
