“Really great location and easy check in and out but the room was SO hot we couldn’t sleep, there was a fan but it didn’t do much. Our windows also opened into the balcony which didn’t feel very private ”

“Everything about our overnight stay was 5 star. Excellent welcome. Excellent room with everything we needed. Excellent evening meal. Fantastic breakfast. Well woth the mobey spent.”

“Clean room”

“The lift was broken so the service lift was the only option. However the landing areas were 'behind the scenes' and poor quality. I did not much care for the long black hairs stuck to the walls of the shower from a previous guest. Clearly not a good cleaning regime. The shower has my pet hate. The shower controls are behind the door. You can't use them without being inside it and it is too small to avoid getting the inevitable blast of cold water that is living in the pipes before whatever...

“Parking , staff”

“Lovely Breakfast included. Owner was very attentive and made you feel very welcome. Only downside was that the shower head would not stay up and was held up by blue tack. Room was cold, but staff quickly sorted this. Food was great. The pub is very pretty!”

“Lovely triple room, not huge but big enough. Tea and coff3e making facilities. Lovely big bathroom and a nice shower.”

“1) the mattress will seem comfortable. 2) for breakfast I ordered pastries for my room.. I also reminded them again before the bar closed. They said that they would be deliver this to my room. This never happened.”

“The rooms are too noisy because of the too thin walls and the people, the guests, are not so polite to avoid to speak out loud.”

“The property could use an upgrade- especially the bathrooms. Rooms were very small. The best part of our stay were the front of house staff who were excellent - they went out of their way to be helpful and were very friendly. In the mornings - they seemed to be understaffed - the front desk were required to help with the breakfast. The cleaning staff were new (?) and only made beds and picked up towels - did not clean the bathrooms and missed one day completely.”

“Large car park at rear but it was a large pub. Friendly staff and clean room. Food was good and well priced which was shown by how busy it was in the restaurant. The only negative at all for this pub/hotel was that when clearing tables after diners had left the waitress used what cutlery was left on the table to make it up ready for the next diners. How did she know that the previous people didn't sneeze on it or handle it? Not nice in my opinion”

“Very pleasant welcoming staff great location for us as we were attending a party nearby. Pleasant and clean room and would use The Star again if we have to return to the area ”

“Charming pub with rooms in the courtyard. Each one had parking outside. Very spacious room with comfortable bed, smart tv and tea & coffee making facilities. Good size en suite with great shower. Towels provided along with a hairdryer, iron and ironing board. Breakfast was made to order along with continental options. Staff friendly and attentive. Would highly recommend and would definitely stay again. ”
