“Lovely place, beautiful food and a really nice room and ambience. But what really made this place was the wonderful warm staff. The lady on arrival was really welcoming, the girl looking after us for food was very attentive and the gentleman who welcomed us at breakfast was delightful. Would highly recommend and will be back in future, thankyou so much!”

“Rebecca is the best! Whatever you want/need she’s there! Had a problem with the bedside lamp - she fixed it, injured my knee, she fed me (not for free I hasten to add before scores of people want the same!). She cooked my breakfast and made sure I was made to feel VERY welcome. Sort of sorry to leave!”

“A fantastic hotel in a great location. Easy to find with ample car parking at the rear. Warm welcome at reception and friendly efficient service. Room was immaculate and very well maintained. Great night’s sleep, quiet location and comfortable bed. Breakfast was fab, staff friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend and would happily stay there again. Thank you to all the staff at the Mayfield for a very comfortable stay.”

“Lovely designed rooms, felt very expensive and a touch of elegance too with bath salts robes etc… Situated in a beautiful village with a lot of history, convenient to Scarborough too, a 40 min walk or a 4 minute drive away from the north side coast. ”

“The hotel was emaculate it was newly refurbished it was the best hotel i have stayed in the staff were extremely polite and really helpful the breakfast was fantastic well worth the money i would recommend this hotel to anyone if you want a good experience in Scarborough this is the place to go Trust me you won't regret it i will be going back again thank you to all the staff at Clarence garden hotel for one of the best experiences i have ever had”

“What a lovely hotel. We stayed in a different one around the corner the night before and what a difference our stay here was. Staff friendly, accomodation and nothing was too much trouble! The food was beautifully cooked! Homemade nom nom. We were made to feel welcome and will be going back with our little boy for sure! Thank you, your staff are a credit.”

“This were lovely rooms (we booked two, as there was a group of four of us) and they were identical, except one had a shower, the other a bath. They were spotlessly clean, and the bed was very comfy. Staff were very helpful, it is worth noting they don't serve food on Sundays but we were guided to a local pub within five minutes walk as an alternative. ”

“We stayed 2 nights to ride the cinder trail to whitby and back then a night out in scarborough. We had evening meals both nights, the food was great.”
