“The house has real potential, but also has real problems. It needs some maintenance in a major way. The toilet won’t flush. The faucet in the bathtub fell off. The grill had not been cleaned in so long that it broke out into a fire. When communicated these problems with the host, the response was I’m sorry for the inconvenience. We will have our handyman fix it after you leave. Frankly, I wanted it fixed while we were there. They also did not provide the necessary materials for cleaning dishes....

“Great location to get away and unplug”

“The chalet cabin rental was the perfect location for our family's birthday getaway. The hot tub, BBQ grille, and fire pit provided plenty of entertainment, and the wifi was an added convenience. The spacious primary suite upstairs and cozy reading loft gave us all the room we needed to relax. The well-stocked kitchen was great for preparing a special birthday meal. Overall, we had an unforgettable and enjoyable stay at the chalet.”

“Absolutely Great stay. The host was outstanding and responded to us very quickly with all our questions. The history and the view are outstanding. We went fishing and walked on the Forge all the way across right at our front door. One of the best places I ever stayed. Must visit Downtown Shepherdtown and Hapers Ferry. Sooo much history . Also must eat at Rock Hill Creamery absolutely the best ice cream Ive ever had.”

“This trip was a surprise 40th birthday trip for my fiance. The house is absolutely beautiful! The wood stove inside is super cozy, the hammock swings outside are an amazing place to relax and read. If you want to unplug from the world and relax and recharge, the lazy bear is the place to go. The host was amazing at answering all our questions. We can't wait to come back. ”

You are far enough out so you feel secluded but close enough to town to feel like you are not in the middle of nowhere. Close fishing and hiking spots. The owners were absolutely amazing. The only minor hiccup was corrected almost instantly. I willbe coming back hare.”
