“The hotel it's small but super clean and well done. The staff is super helpful and friendly. The rooms are spacious and the bathroom huge. The only thing is that is on a quiet neighborhood so it's like 20 minute walk to the canal and Nishiki market but still centric enough. Also, the futon sounds like a good idea until the second night and your hips are dying...just saying. It's not as easy as you think if you are 35 or older...”

“I loved this hotel. It had the best bathtub I have ever used in Japan. The layout of the room was great. It was very quiet and the bed was very comfortable. I highly recommend this hotel!”

Frigobar vuoto. Niente onsen”

“The staff, service and food were exceptional. The location was perfect for what we wanted out of a four night stay in Kyoto. But, it was the staff that made the experience memorable. Some of the key spots are just around the corner from the hotel. Given the crowds during the day, it was easy to see them early in the morning or after dinner when the crowds were much smaller. If you are looking for the perfect atmosphere from a traditional small Japanese Ryoken then look no further!”

“We loved this hotel, and had a great 4 day stay in Kyoto. Very upscale and peaceful, in a quiet, non-touristy neighbourhood, with lots of convenient travel options. And we ended up in nearby underground jazz bar Zac Baran twice, as well as a tiny local restaurant about 15 minutes walk west, same side of street as hotel, called kawahigashi (it also says 'food and beverage' in English outside). We were the only people on a weeknight, with a single chef/server doing everything, and the food was...

“We had an amazing 3 day stay at Art Mon Zen. From the moment we arrived to leaving, the staff were exceptional and extremely attentive. Probably the best hotel stay in Japan. Overall, the room was very comfortable and relaxing after a long day visiting all the sensational sights in Kyoto. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to stay near the main Gion district in Kyoto.”

“Wonderful attention to details in the room. Spacious luxury in our corner room overlooking the river. Two layers of double-pane glass dampen the road noise to an acceptable level for us and was outweighed by the convenience of the location, so much within walking distance. Staff were eagerly helpful. Highly recommend overall.”

"Ottimo hotel, nuovissimo, situato in posizione centrale, camere ampie e confortevoli ed ottima colazione.
Fortemente suggerito per chi vuole passare qualche giorno a Kyoto"
