“Right on the doorstep of the Yorkshire Dales sets an idyllic location for this friendly pub/ hotel. Very friendly welcome with exceptional hospitality. The room was clean and of a good size, a very comfortable stay and the staff could not be more helpful. This property is also very pet friendly. Highly recommended ”

“On arrival could have done with better signage as to where to park as we ended up parking at Forbidden Corner. Also not easy to find Reception and when we did find there was no-one there for 10 mins. Room nice, dressing gown and slippers nice touch. Had evening meal in the bar which was ok and staff were attentive. Meals on the Sunday finished at 5 and bar closed which was inconvenient. We were informed no staff on site again until Wed. We couldn’t boil kettle Mon morning as electric went off...

“What a wonderful place to stay! We were delayed in our travels and arrived after the kitchen had closed. The staff were very kind and accommodating and made us a lovely dinner. The food was exceptional! Additionally our room was terrific with a great shower. We will definitely return to do some hill walking nearby. Only wish we had stayed longer!”

“This was a very nice clean location. Only down fall was the fact the fan in the room wasn’t that great down the unexpected hot weather, as the room was extremely hot. Other than that it was a great place.”

“I stayed one night in a double room. The downstairs of this hotel is OK, I arrived early (2pm) and it took me a while to find someone to ask if I could check in early. I couldn't so went off for a walk round the town (which is v nice). My room (40) was small, tbe bedroom window opened about 6 inches (not ideal in a heatwave in a room with no aircon), the bathroom was tired, mouldy grout and a mouldy shower curtain. “Didn’t like having the risk of leaving the key in the separate though private bathroom. No staff available. Though we didn’t use the Lounge or cutlery/ crockery the amenities nay well be useful for others. Place ok for a budget stay. Area was beautiful”
