“Stayed here 2 nights as we were doing the Macmillan mighty hike in Malham. Hotel was great, good selection of beers, food was fantastic ( proper pub grub), staff were friendly and helpful, clean rooms. ”

“Great location on quiet road. Parking easy and safe. 10 mins walk into Settle. Rooms very comfortable and well equipped. Free fresh milk, orange, apple juice, water. Staff superb, efficient and helpful.”

“We stayed for one night, June 2025, I wish it had been longer! From start to finish, everything about our stay was lovely. Picturesque building in a beautiful setting. “This is the second time we've stayed at the Mason Freehouse, it was lovely the first time we stayed, which made us keen to return. Although it is now under new management, it's clear that the lovely, friendly, warm welcoming atmosphere is something the staff are keen to retain. “Ran by a wonderful couple who are really friendly and accommodating. The lodge is in a beautiful location and the facilities and room are lovely. Breakfast was included and we were asked beforehand what we wanted so it would be ready for the time we requested. And it tasted wonderful. Me and my girlfriend have visited here twice now and I'd greatly recommend a stay here.”

“5 stars are not enough for the George and Dragon - the absolute best care and hospitality can be found here! Such a gem in a beautiful village with so much history. All the staff were so kind and accommodating, and the food was delicious and generous portions. Only place open for dinner in the evening so be sure to reserve! Highly highly recommend. ”
