“I enjoyed every minute of my stay. The staff were exceptional, friendly, helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. I have to say a great big thank you to the chefs who really took care of my dietary needs with real kindness. I would recommend this lovely hotel in a perfect location and am planning my next visit.”
“I liked most things. The bed was one of the most comfortable on which I have slept. The bath was really nice, long and comfortable. The hot water was hot whenever I wanted it. I ate at the restaurant three evenings. The food was reasonably good but I feel that apart from the jam sponge and custard, the puddings were trying too hard and were too complex to sound attractive. “Stayed 2 nights while visiting family in the area, found the Red Lion through an internet search, reviews were good and the price was reasonable, so we booked. Very happy we did, all the comments from the good reviews we found to be accurate. The only negative comment I could make is that, by necessity electric showers are fitted and they are a bit whimpish! You to run around to get wet ”

We had a standard room which was spacious and nicely decorated. Large shower room. The plug sockets had been upgraded to include USB and phone charger sockets so you don’t need a plug.
Just a few minutes walk to the steep hill and then onto the shopping centre and round to the waterfront.

“Difficult to find and very problematic checking in. Digital check in never opened for me. The only way I was able to get into my room was that I was let in by a management person. I didn’t leave for dinner because I was afraid I’d be locked out. I wanted to drop my luggage around noon so I could see the sites without suitcase in tow but since there is no on site staff and no check in until 4 that was not possible. Please come up with a solution for travelers who need to store luggage. ”
