“Room was massive, double the size of any room we have stayed in in Japan. Pillows had both Western and traditional Japan options. Fiona was encompassed in a fitted sheet (never seen this before) but kept us all warm even when it was sub 0 outside. Room had access to outdoor area, exclusive to the room, which had table and chairs. “While I was there, only one member of staff was manning the front desk as well undertaking other responsibilities around the hotel, but a phone was left at the front desk so you could call when you needed assistance. The accommodations were clean and comfortable and enjoyed the retro-feel. The free drinks and snacks in the lounge area were a nice touch and I loved the outdoor Onsen.”

“The gentleman who runs the place is very nice and accommodating. There was hot water and tea waiting for us in our room, which was a delicious, unexpected treat. The bathroom / shower are small, but were clean and served their purposes. The women’s onsen was very relaxing and much needed after a day at the Snow Monkey Park. My family and I enjoyed our stay. ”

“Was a great stay at this great little inn. It may be a bit different than what most western guest expect to find, but I went for the Ryokan experience and was not disappointed. Staff were really great, helpful in scheduling transport to the monkey park and to the train station. Room was clean, good size, and had everything I needed. The town itself is a cute little village and it was a great experience going to all 9 baths in the town. The baths themselves could use a bit more attention... some...
