“Upon arriving at the hotel, the first impression was very positive. The property is beautiful, well-presented, and the staff were welcoming. Check-in was smooth and efficient with no issues at all. “We had high hopes when we arrived at Shangri-la Golden Sands and the staff were nothing but polite, pleasant and helpful throughout our stay. However, we quickly noticed that our bathrooms weren’t the cleanest - there strands of hair everywhere and a slight smell of sewer. There were plumbing issues - which the hotel fixed upon request. The dinner buffet was very mediocre and somewhat disappointing- only because I associated Shangri-la with better buffet food.”

“My wife and I stayed here for 7 nights. We liked this hotel very much. The staff were excellent. We had a spacious suite on the 11th floor. The pool was nice ( nicer without the pop music ). It was a nice place to come for relaxation. Only negative was the beach . We want to come back to this Doubletree again anyway because the staff was so welcoming , nice room, pool, and good price.
