“Heather the manager was very friendly and welcoming. We got our drinks at the bar and confirmed our stay and we had a lovely evening meal. The room was spacious and comfortable with a shower and bath.It was very quiet.Breakfast in the morning was great and heather made us feel so at home. Definitely would recommend a stay.”

“Overall very good experience - the hotel, the rooms, cleanliness, staff, value for money, check in, check out, standard of rooms and facilities - All excellent. Except that there is cow dung smell when you open windows because of the farms and animals in the nearby houses, sheds etc. I understand its not related to hotel, but just rural locality. So i would still rate the hotel and stay as excellent.”

“Single occupancy for two nights - small room, but clean, good shower & comfortable bed. Food (smoked salmon & scrambled eggs for breakfast and Cajun chicken salad in the evening) was excellent and portions were generous. Staff friendly and efficient. All for a very reasonable price. Great location to explore Lake Windermere.”

“This is a beautiful hotel just a few miles off the motorway but on the other she of Kendal. The Rooms are tastefully decorated, clean and comfortable. We will come again for a longer stay. Just beautiful”

“L albergo non è male la camera era grande con i servizi un po' datati ma il confort non è stato il massimo per il malfunzionamento del riscaldamento che durante la notte si faceva sentire temo esterna 3/4 c alla fine ci siamo lamentati e ci hanno fornito una stufa elettrica ”

“We got to this property by chance. What a fun surprise. It is an old but very well kept inn. It has many beautiful hikes around. It is in the middle of nowhere. And that makes it even more fantastic. ”

“La posizione non rappresenta le foto assolutamente....si trove sul ciglio di una strada in mezzo a nulla. Il verde che si nota nelle foto e' più lontano di li La camera molto spartana, umida e con un tot di polvere. La colazione va fatta dalle 8,15 alle 8,45 praticamente in una sala con cucina e l,odore ti rimane tutta la giornata sugli abiti. Dopo diverse guest house questa e' sicuramente la prima scadente....”

“Gorgeous stay here. Really family friendly with our two small children. Family room was spacious (but stairs so not pram accessible). Breakfast was great, we had lots of fun in the pool. ”

“Very Scottish decor’ for some reason. Staff were over worked and doing multiple jobs as best as they could and as quickly as they good. Tending bar, taking orders, waiting on tables - just one person! They really struggled at breakfast with a coach party all coming down to eat at the same time and only two waitresses and one chef to handle everything. I could see how frustrated the staff and the customers were getting with the whole situation. The room was clean and tidy with good tea and...

“Very spacious and clean rooms with excellent tea, coffee and hot chocolate, but please, three teabags for a room for two? Leisure facilities were excellent and quiet when we visited. The car park is tight, so larger vehicles beware. Walking distance from town centre.”

“Amazing weekend.Bit awkward to find as we came in from kendal way ..Sat nav tookus throughmiles of one car wide road but its a paradise corner with stream and garden areas.. Some cottages residential but very friendly especially John..Also has smart TV and excellent wifi ..4 of us on anniversary weekend.Fully recommended..”
