“Very disappointing experience. My daughter almost slipped into the pool because the railing was loose, creating a serious safety hazard. We brought this to the hotel’s attention, but no refund or compensation was offered. There was also very limited seating by the pool, the hallways had a strong odor, and the location did not feel safe. Due to these concerns, we chose not to stay and left the property. I would not recommend this hotel.”

We enjoy sending good reviews but in this situation we can not and want to alert fellow travelers what we experienced. We were so disappointed in the accommodations that we left a night early. First impressions do matter. The front of the house was untidy with overgrown bushes and weeds. “The property was clean and well-maintained. There were many things to do, including a swimming pool, a hike, and a close by watering hole near a river. The rooms were very nice and the restaurant served excellent food.”

“We had a wonderful stay at Phoenicia Lodge. We stayed for two nights and went hiking in the surrounding area. The lodge is in a great location—ideal if you have a car (we didn’t, but we managed just fine). Sandra was a huge help, and the welcome was fantastic. She always gave great advice and really takes good care of her guests. I highly recommend Phoenicia Lodge.”

“The location is excellent, there are near places to eat. The breakfast area is nice, but with only one microwave, toast and waffle maker makes difficult to have breakfast especially when there is a lot of people at the hotel. My room was a king size bed, very comfortable. “Just what me and my two boys needed for our short ski weekend. Very efficient little apartment with well equipped kitchen. So close to Belleayre and very nice welcome from the host.”

“WIFi was very weak. We had very poor phone connections. Breakfast was fine but area is small so crowded. Not their fault but huge storm meant we lost our electricity for one night. Location was good. We enjoyed a great parade in front of our hotel.”
