Located in the heart of town, it is the perfect place for a Berkshire getaway.you can walk everywhere and sit on the porch and lawn to read, sip wine, or simply enjoy the outdoor firepits. They also have activities throughout the summer.”

“Very nice and cute place to stay. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was nice and clean. Very quiet with beautiful outside property. The only problem was no coffee or breakfast until 8am.”

“The motel is perfect for tourists travelling by car since parking is very easy. Free breakfast is available in the morning. Large rooms and nice staff people. The Motel is 5 minute driving from the town center of North Adam. There is a restaurant nearby, or you need the car to reach the town centre. ”

“Everything was wonderful at porches. I love the special antique charm. Loved breakfast. The fresh berries were the best. The staff was attentive and helpful. I really loved the claw foot tub and rain shower head. I can’t wait to return.”

“South Shire is a quaint Victorian Inn on Elm Street within walking distance to the center of Bennington, VT. The Inn has a family feel and elegance. We traveled as a couple. It was easy to get to sites and enjoy fine restaurants. The Inn is in keeping with the feel of strength of the Bennington community, as a place for artists, musicians, and people's expression generally to thrive. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend South Shire.”

“The room was fine, the carpet was old and a bit musty. The fridge was helpful to have, and we used the coffee maker, would have preferred a Keurig. The bed was comfortable and the air conditioner worked fine. The furniture was nice, we liked the two separate bathroom sinks. Over a pleasant stay.”
