We chose an apartment at San Marco to visit with our son who lives in Vicenza. The location is great, right on the port quay with a small balcony to watch it all go by. The views across the lake are spectacular and the breezes wonderful. The brothers who checked us in also run the cafe and were very helpful. They also have the best coffee in the area. The apartment was spartan, little if any decor and the furniture was tired. However the bed was fine, pull out not so much.

Maksoimme extraa järvinäköalasta ja se kannatti. Saatiin kokonainen Apartment järvinäköalalla. Huoneisto oli suuri ja siisti ja todella keskeisellä paikalla vanhankaupungin sydämessä. Järvinäköalat oli huikeat! Huoneiston sisustus oli hyvin simppeli, ei ehkä sinänsä kodikkkain, mutta kaikki toimi.

Ļoti laba atrašanās vieta - pilsētiņas centrā, osta minūtes gājiena attālumā, autobuss- 5 min. atsaucīgs personāls.Istaba 3 cilvēku vajadzībām pieteikami liela, vienīgi nebija ledusskapja. Arī brokastis bija labas - daudzveidīga izvēle.

Stay in the lovely San Marco hotel
Beautiful location looking right out onto Malcesine's harbour. Lovely atmosphere too, as we were given a warm welcome, departure and everything in between from our hosts (they were great). Really nice breakfast too!

Terrible mean people who over-book
I booked and paid for a room at San Marco over a month before my arrival, but when I arrived to check in, they said they canceled my room reservation two day earlier. I stood there in the restaurant space at the early check-in time, with my luggage, that doubles as check-in, until they found another room in the town for me and my partner. Terrible mean people. Sad.

Tolles Hotel mit sehr geräumigen Zimmern. Das Haus ist sehr massiv und im schönen italienischen Stil gebaut. Alle Aktivitäten auf und um den Gardasee sind gut zu erreichen, das meiste zu Fuss.

Почему-то для 3-местного номера предлагалось два мыла, два шампуня и два больших полотенца (правда чуть позже принесли третье большое полотенце). Не работал полотенцесушитель - что в общем-то грустно при наличии мокрых полотенец, купальников. Ветчина на завтрак имела "скушный" запах (вчерашнего дня она была). Утренний персонал был угрюм и недружелюбен, а вот вечерняя сменя - душевные ребята). Ах да, на завтрак предлагалось просеко, что нивелировало хмурость стаффа.

Sjarmerende hotel med fine rom som virket nyoppusset og lydisolerte vinduer. Tregulv. Veldig delikat og god frokost med godt utvalg. Hyggelig personalet.

One of the best hotels we've stayed in
Had a lovely stay at San Marco. Stefano was so helpful whenever we needed anything and the location was excellent right at the harbour front. The room had everything you would need and was clean all over. The mattress was very comfortable and the room quite sound proof. Breakfast choice was huge! Good selection of everything. All in all, one of the best hotels we have stayed in. Thank you to all the staff.

Liegt direkt am Hafen, die Lage ist sehr günstig... Unser Zimmer war sehr spartanisch eingerichtet aber sauber. Wer keine hohen Ansprüche an Ausstattung und Service hat, lediglich eine günstige Übernachtungsmöglichkeit sucht, könnte hier gut aufgehoben sein. Man versteht und spricht Deutsch.

Hübsches Hotel direkt im Zentrum
Wir waren zu zweit und für 3 Nächte in Malcesine. Wir haben uns den See angeschaut und waren in Verona. Abends bot Malcesine sehr viel Möglichkeiten zum Shoppen und Ausgehen. Zum Hotel gehört ein Cafe/Bar. Wenn man als Hotelgast dort etwas verzehrt bekommt man 15% Ermäßigung. Im Vergleich waren die Preise auch ohne Ermäßigung nicht teurer als woanders.

Wir haben im San Marco ein paar schöne Tage gehabt.Die Besitzer und das Personal waren sehr nett und zuvorkommend.Sehr gutes Essen und ein sauberes Zimmer haben die Urlaubszeit verschönert.Danke

Spenderade två nätter på San Marco nu i maj. Det var ett jättetrevligt hotell! Så centralt det går, härligt att vara mitt i smeten. Rummet vi fick var kanon! Stort och rymligt. Stor toalett. Rent och fräscht! Vi önskade utsikt över vackra Gardasjön, ett tips! Rekommenderar varmt detta hotell!

Vi bodde i deras lägenhet och den var perfekt! Stor, ren, centralt! Parkering ingick men låg 1 km från hotellet. Bemötandet vid betalningen var nästan otrevlig, så vi var tacksamma att vi inte behövde ha mer kontakt med hotellet än så.

Schöne Unterkunft, Lokal, Lage, unmögliche Chefin!
Tierfreundliches Hotel gesucht, dieses gefunden, reserviert. 2 Tage vor Ankunft ruft Chefin um 22 Uhr abends an, dass es unmöglich sei mit Hund, und wollte uns ausserhalb des Stadtzentrums einquartieren. Sie sagte sie würde mir eine Mail schicken und dann könne ich entscheiden. Es kam keine Mail. Nächster Tag immer noch nicht, sie rief wieder an, würde Mail nochmals schicken. Wieder keine Mail bekommen. Kurz vor Abreise wieder ein Telefon, wir können bleiben mit Hund aber nur für 10 Euro mehr pro Tag. Wollte auf Reservation vor Ort dann auch noch von mir sehen ob ich Frühstück dabei habe, als wir frühstücken wollten. Sie sagte sie glaube das sei nicht dabei. Es war aber dabei.Zum Schluss wollte ich Rechnung begleichen mit Kreditkarte. Gleich daneben war ein Zettel "We accept Credit Cards". Ich hielt ihr meine Visa hin, sie wollte Barzahlung. Ich sagte ich habe nicht genug dabei, und sie sagte da drüben sei ein Bancomat. Ich zeigte auf den Zettel und sie gab nach. Zimmer wurde nicht ein einziges mal gereinigt in 4 Tagen, WC Papier musste ich beim Frühstück verlangen. Kellnerin und Kellner waren sehr zuvorkommend, Chefin allerdings unmöglich, habe mich dort nicht willkommen gefühlt. Schade denn die Lage ist super.

Was great arriving on a boat to see the hotel as we approached. Being central you might expect this to be noisy, but we found it fine and noise stopped by 11pm each night. Close to all amenities, not far from cable car so look this aint five star, but it is fine and does what it says on the tin

Garda över förväntan!
Stannade till i Garda över natten för att vila upp oss efter en lång bilresa genom Tyskland och slutligen brennerpasset, vi hade pratat om att hitta en camping i området för att spara lite pengar men så hittade vi detta fantastiska ställe precis vid en liten hamn som skänkte oss en fantastisk upplevelse av den beryktade sjön. Rekommenderas verkligen!

Dejligt hyggeligt hotel med en unik placering. Personalet er serviceminded og taler såvel tysk som engelsk. Man skal dog være opmærksom på, at såfremt man ønsker at bade i søen, så skal man påregne en gåtur på 15 min.

neu renovierte Zimmer. hübscher, kleiner Frühstücksraum. Hoteleigene Parkplätze gibt es nicht, man muss sich einen Parkplatz suchen.

Great place in a medieval historic city center
Hotel renovated recently. Old traditional house, but modern inside. Location: right at the small and beautiful harbour of Malcesine and a 3 mins walk away from the castle - amazing! Swimming in the lake possible north of the location after a 10 mins walk and south walking 10...15 mins. Soundscape: the modern windows block noise from outside fairly well - requiring of course to close the windows and to use the existing aircon. Noise from staircases and adjacent rooms is clearly audible, but still within a "normal" range for a "standard" hotel. Value for money: we've paid (early September) EUR 100 per night for two adults - fair; plus EUR 50 for our 13 yrs old son - too much considering the simple camp bed he got. Parking: a challenge in the center of Malcesine! The closest carpark "Piazza Statuto", 2 mins walk east of the hotel is rather expensive. However a public parking garage is a 5 mins walk (direction east) away from the hotel. We've paid EUR 10 per day - fair. Languages: hotel staff all speak German when it's about the standard phrases, some of them also English. And (hey) ... Italian ... but they don't seem to enjoy to educate foreigners in their native language.

Wunderschönes Hotel in Zentrum direkt am Hafen.
Sehr schönes, familiäres Hotel, perfekt gelegen mitten in Malcesine. Kommen immer wieder sehr gerne hier her und können es nur empfehlen. Die beiden Zimmer mit der Dachterrasse sind besonders schön.

Dejligt mellemklasse hotel med fantastisk beliggenhed med udsigt over havnen i fantastisk hyggelig by, hotellet ligger midt i det mest interessante område i byen. Venlig betjening, småkedelig standard morgenmad. Ren og enkelt indretning. Vi savnede læselys på værelset.

Loistava sijainti, erittäin siisti, hyvä palvelu
San Marco on Malcesinen satamassa lähellä "kaikkea". Erittäin siisti, uusi kaunis avara huone ja kylpyhuone, siivous päivittäin. Hyvä palvelu, asiallinen kunnon aamupala. Miinuksena minibaarin eli kylmän säilytystilan puuttuminen. Ilmastoinnin toiminnan logiikka jäi hämäräksi, mikä saattoi johtua meidän omista teknisistä puutteista :)

Modern, Clean and Great Location
We stayed 3 nights in August 2013 to attend a wedding at Malcesine Castle. Hotel is in a superb location. We were on 4th floor (there is a modern, clean and working lift). Had a small side view of harbour. Air Conditioning centrally controlled so had to ask for it to be adjusted twice, but staff happy to help. Everything was clean, modern and in a good state of repair. Breakfast consisted of cereal, croissant, and selection of cold meat & cheese. Perfectly adequate. Happy to recommed this hotel.

Fantastisk beliggenhed
Boede i hotellets ferielejlighed. Man kunne ikke ønske sig en bedre udsigt. Faciliteterne og indretningen af lejligheden var meget fine. Desværre var rengøringen ikke helt i top.

マルチェージネの港のすぐ前
ホテルは船が着く港の直ぐ前でとても便利な場所にあります。昔ゲーテがイタリアに来たときに泊まったホテルとの事で建物の横にプレートがありました。部屋の設備は綺麗でしたし結構広くて快適だったのですが、毎日の掃除が余りきちんとされておらず部屋の床の埃とかがそのままだったりしたのでそれだけが残念でした。ホテルのスタッフやホテル１階のレストランの人達は皆親切でした。

close to all must-see sights
hotel had no reception area - in a cafe-no lounge area nor did it have anyone on the premises after 11.00 pm .When we went out for a night and returned at midnight we were unable to get into the place by the side entrance as the magnetic card was not working & the emergency tel no shown by the door was actually ringing inside the cafe.Aptart from 1 nearby hotel everywhere was deserted and we felt frightened -the owner of the nearby hotel helped by trying to contact the owner but to no avail - in the end the police were called and they eventually contacted the owners ( no staff live on the premises)This took over 1 hour to sort out and all that we received was a very begrudged 'sorry'
