“We came to see Avebury and it was magnificent. We took the train to Bathe which was also wonderful. We made the mistake of not coming with a car which limited our access to many places. “There is parking behind the waitrose and staff walked us there after their shift had ended to ensure we understood the parking App since tomorrow is the Farmers Market on High Street and we would have to move the vehicle early. Now it’s all sorted and paid in advance. Of course it’s an older hotel and everything is crooked and settled, but you should come here for that eclectic experience, as we did. I just miss the old mural that was painted in the pub before, replaced by a more modern map. ”

“For the price we paid, the room was rather sub par to be honest. Most particularly the bed had a very cheap mattress by good hotel standards. Particularly since this was billed as a "premium" room. There was a problem with damp on the carpet in the room too. On the positive the young couple running the place were very friendly and the chef very helpful. Didn't try the food so can't comment. they just need to spend some money on the rooms to justify the prices they are charging.”
