Nearly a 5 star quality

Our only minor concerns were the tiny lav counter in the bathroom, and tricky access. It's near I-35 and the entrance is on a small street marked I-35 this way, so, thinking that was the On ramp, we didn't take that but went in the motel exit. A little "motel entrance" sign would help show that you do in fact head toward the interstate ramp to reach the motel entrance. The lav countertop accommodates very little, but not an issue for a single person. The lobby, halls, and room all looked nice, clean, and somewhat new. Room furniture was fine, and the bed was especially comfortable! Finishes looked unblemished. The wall mounted heat/AC unit had a nice digital thermostat and low noise level. The view beyond I-35 was the gorgeous Cathedral of St. Paul. The room darkening curtains worked amazingly well. TV worked fine. Breakfast eating area was spacious and the food was a notch above. A 10-minute walk from the Capitol building. Barring our minor issues and the above average cost typical of Minnesota, this place merits 5 stars!
