“We were pleasantly surprised, the rooms were huge and super clean! Everyone was kind and helpful, and they had free laundry which came in super helpful! The pool is very small, but sufficient, and the breakfast was a good variety but they did struggle keeping up to keep things full, and most of the food, while tasty, wasn't hot. Will stay again!”

There were adventurous and playful touches, including the secret hide-away on the first floor, behind a bookcase. Housing a hotel in a very old house is another terrific choice. The restoration process is clearly in progress; it's understandable that it's a long-term project. Drawbacks were largely fixable. “The space was just what we needed to rest in the summertime while my kids went to camp at the Brandywine Battlefield. We did have an AC system that did not work until the next to last day and we were given another room. Other than that the pool was great, the breakfast was great, and the hotel was clean.”

“The room was very clean, towels were really plush, bed and pillows were plush and comfortable. Hotel was quiet at night and location was fabulous and very safe in a very upscale neighborhood. The only quirky thing was the bathroom door in the room was a sliding barn door made out of frosted glass with no lock, so the bathroom was not private if you are staying with your children, etc.”
