We had booked The Marriott as we had previously stayed at others which were of very good standard. Arrival and reception staff were polite and helpful and our room with a sitting area and large bedroom were very pleasing, however when trying to run a bath in the evening the water was at most lukewarm. Reception staff were sympathetic, but, no action could be taken until the following day. A very helpful maintenance man arrived to check the water and we were informed that this had been an ongoing problem for a number of weeks leading up to Christmas. We were offered another room of similar standard, however, this had a noisy ventilation duct outside and so we finally agreed to a smaller room with allegedly hot water. Having wasted several hours of our holiday sorting this we returned to the new room in the evening to be confronted with lukewarm water again. On this occasion, reception staff were unhelpful and stated that this was normal water temperature. I offered for the duty manager to test also, however, no manager interested, We were due to stay for 5 nights, but, checked out the following day and found alternative accommodation. Yes, the duty manager on this day, offered compensation, but, overall extremely disappointing and appalling service from some duty managers. NEVER again will we stay at this Marriott Hotel.
