beautiful hotel quiet environment

Pro: excellent rooms, very comfortable, close to universal studios,
Contro: parking fees are to high for the location

It's no longer a Westin

Contro: Sell it back to Westin
Since approx. January 2016, this hotel is now affiliated with Hilton ....The marketing seems to run something like this.......The Las Palmeras is now a resort and not a hotel...That means we can charge you a daily resort fee and parking fees with impunity...In order to pay for all of this , it appears that the management team is going to change it into a time share....They phone you and invite you to a time share symposium the day after you check in....That way , you can own a part of a hotel room instead of renting one....(sure makes sense to me...LOL)

Front desk Employees Don't know what you are being charged for, I asked my person what the extra charges were for and they said they believe it was a resort and parking fee...it didn't add up!!! I told him this and he sat there like a deer in head lights. Without properly explaining to me a breakdown of my charges that made no sense. I paid $170 online, he advised there was $100 hold, $25 resort fee and $18 parking, but then swiped my card and I got a $250 charge! So $170 online plus $250?! What?! he had no idea, all he kept saying was that "he believes" it was this charge or this...when I told him that didn't make sense, he sat in silence...never going back again...

We arrived after Disney, checked in, had a great dinner and a free drink. The hotel has a comfortable lobby and nice exercise room. It a good place for a day stay

Shocking service in a nice hotel!

Pro: They tried their best to make it right, giving us free breakfast however I would have preferred a suitable room.
Contro: Throughout our stay they were unable to provide us with towels so we had to use pool towels.
Posizione: Not a great location, long walk from everything. Denny's was the only food nearby and it was a 20 min walk. Shuttle was not available during our stay.
We arrived at the hotel a little concerned as expedia had notified me of the check in time and as I read the email I noticed the name of the hotel had changed, from a Westin to a Hilton. I was confused but didn't think much of it till things started to go down hill. We checked in and not a word was said of any change over or anything going on in the hotel at that time and all the branding still said Westin so I assumed a mistake had been made. It quickly became apparent that something was very wrong. We were 'upgraded' to a room with a bed and a horrible dirty looking pull out couch that was incredibly uncomfortable, instead of the two queen beds we requested. When we discussed this upgrade later we discovered this decision was made not out of generosity but out of necessity as they had over booked the hotel and had no rooms of the type we had booked left. We requested a rollaway bed as the pull out couch was extremely uncomfortable however they had run out of rollaways also. The hotel and rooms are lovely and well sized with a nice pool and spa. We would have loved the hotel if they had managed to sort out the merger. It became clear that the hotel had lost a lot of the house keeping staff due to the change of ownership and the hotel was very understaffed. I had to remake the beds every night.

Bored hotel, no customer oriented.

Wait for the room to be available, then it was a very small room, not a studio as described by expedia a the time of purchase. Rooms look old fashioned, not sinonymus of a "westin" brand name. We are 4 in the room, and nevertheless we write and ask for towels and supplies for a party of 4, the housekeeping just left what they like (only 2 towels, no coffee, 1 soap, etc). Very sad staying for being a Christmas present for my childrens.
