Very Pleasant Hotel, in a Great Location

This is a very pleasant small hotel in the Byward Market neighborhood of Ottawa. Given its history as the old market area, it has numerous restaurants and shops and bustles on weekends. It is an easy walk to public transportation.
The hotel itself is delightful. The staff is very friendly and helpful and my room was clean and comfortable. A nice full breakfast is included, which is nice. To my mind, though, what sets the hotel apart is the small details that make one feel at home, welcomed and appreciated. There were umbrellas to take in the lobby on a rainy day. There was a library and newspapers. There was afternoon tea from 3-5, that went well beyond a simple cup of tea or coffee to include fruit, cheese and crackers, cookies and other munchies. And, there was a table set every evening in the dining room with china, glassware and silverware for use by someone bringing home takeout. A wonderful civilized touch.
Oh, and very reasonable rates. Really, a cut above and a place I would visit again and that I would heartily recommend to anyone.
