“Service and staff were absolutely fantastic. Very polite from booking in. To checking out. A great visit so have had to book again. Exceptional afternoon tea. Loved the drawing room. Bedrooms are great. The background music in thr longes a little loud for back ground. That’s my only criticism. ”

“The hotel is very dated. The staff are very friendly. It was quite clean but being a Towncenter hotel it was extremely noisy through the night into the early hours of the morning and then to cap it off workmen started work on the McDonald’s opposite at 6 am in the morning, so I’m not a great night sleep. ”

“Parking was a nightmare but soon sorted out. Service was above and beyond, owner driving around until he found a fish and chip shop open and bringing us back a lovely meal. Super breakfast with lots of choice.”

“Staff were impeccable. Food excellent. Whole standard of the place was top class. Just a few minor points to note & could be improved - bedroom window could not be opened to let in fresh air & badly needed dusting. Not enough electrical sockets & could have been better positioned close to mirror for make up, hair etc. Other than that, it was a beautiful atmospheric and classy hotel and full of character. ”

“Every thing what a amazing place the staff went above and beyond to help you the food was delicious so clean stayed in loads of hotels but this one is the best by far will be definitely be coming back and will definitely recommend to all my friends and family ”

“Although there was scaffolding on the back of the building, there was no noise or evidence of building being done when inside, a credit to the cleaning team. The staff are wonderful from the great welcome on arrival to the next morning’s fabulous breakfast team. Thank you”

Delicious breakfast , all the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Lively comfortable bar area . Can’t fault it at all we have already rebooked for May and can’t wait to return to lovely Holmfirth and the wonderful Elephant & Castle . ”

“The staff were courteous on arrival and gave us a tour of the beautiful building before showing us to our room. The house and surrounding environment were superb. The room was comfortable and clean albeit a little too warm at night. Our breakfast was tasty and varied served by a very polite young lady. We enjoyed our brief stay very much and would recommend it to others. ”
