“Getting a room for 3 is not always easy. We had two lovely rooms for 3 which my grandson loved as he didn’t have to share with his sister and Nana! Modern bathroom with walk in shower with good quality toiletries. ”

“We stayed here during a trip to Thirsk for our friend’s wedding and it was brilliant. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and we had everything we needed. It’s located right in the town square so the location was perfect. Would definitely recommend to others!”

“This is a lovely country hotel, i stayed last weeknin a garden room.
This week I chose a room in the Hotel itself which was great unfortunately the staff went home and left music playing in the Restaurant down below and this kept me awake !
The Management compensated me in the morning for the inconvenience which was good of them.
The food was excellent and the ambience was great so I will definitely stay again .”

Breakast was included and it was tasty and fresh. We are vegan and it is the best hotel breakfast we have had. But the thing that elevates it is the staff. So helpful, attentive, and friendly. A great stay.”

“Valentino’s is an absolute gem! Fabulous staff who were friendly and super courteous.
The rooms are thoughtfully furnished, very clean and with quality toiletries.
We ate here too, it was no problem to set up a table outside for us, the food was fantastic!
Breakfast too did not disappoint with amazing polite service and Italian food to die for!
Will definitely find an excuse to go back to Ripon so that I can stay here again!! ”

Restaurant offered good classic italian food at sensible prices. Breakfast fantastic italian inspired dishes which were well presented and a welcome change from the usual predictable offerings. Staff were well trained and pleasant. ”

Each room with horsey theme and named after race horses, very clean witj fluffy towels and robes even curly wirly to have with your coffee. Hair dryer iron and ironing board . Lovely breakfast great choice on menu. All staff attentive and friendly. Lovely anniversay stay, thank you all we will come again ”

“Very quirky pub with a fantastic horse theme. The rooms were fabulous and very comfortable. They had thought of everything in the rooms and also had Dolce Gusto coffee. Then curly wurly was a great idea instead of biscuits in the room. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. Cannot fault the service we received at the bar or in the restaurant and the food was amazing. ”

“Great place to stay on a working farm. Room was spacious with a good kitchenette. There is a small, well stocked store to buy food/drinks onsite which is helpful as the location is not near shops. Location is great being right near the walking and cycling trails. ”

“We stayed 3 nights and the experience was excellent. Clean, quiet and superb breakfast included. Ate dinner in the pub twice which was very good. No downsides, just that there was no cot available for the baby. No issues as we were told that in advance so brought our own. Also the single bed in our room was very squeaky.
Would definitely stay again. ”

A 10 minute walk after dinner to the abbey ruins down the road was a nice surprise. Great bed and tasty breakfast. All in all an enjoyable place to stop over on the way up to the Lake District. Only down side was that we couldn't connect to their internet.”
